This thread has lost its way. For shame.

I'm also trying to reduce my commection of troop builders. Two to five of any troop is plenty for me, a point of view that gradually came to me during the last year or so. Of course, it wasn't having a girlfriend, or a wife, or even two kids that got me to that point, but that third kid that did it.

I know, Fast Draw, I'm sorry... Not really.
You know, I've got just under 40 of the new Viper... I'm not trying to measure up or anything just pointing out that it has gotten well out of control. [Thirty-eight, to be accurate. A little part of me knows I need the two more still.] And there're sizable numbers for all of the troop builders. Even after cancelling with BBTS, I have sixteen of the new trooper and steel brigade. Four Jungle BATS, I was gonna be happy with a dozen of them before I cancelled the lot. Hah, vaginas... It should be noted that I also had two hours left to kill at work before I could go home. So, I did linger on the Lexan work a little longer than I needed to. Did I really use "passed"? Geez, maybe I really do need to learn to proofread. Stupid English Teacher, always being right in High School. Well, nuts to her, I have poor grammar, spelling and a better paycheck! USA! USA! USA! Side note: I am glad to see "commection" being used... I think it may take on a definition of "when one's collecting has spiraled out of control into mess territory. Because we all agree that this IS NOT hoarding... Right." And that Grunt it cool. I'm just going to be placing the new Hawk on my SRO Grunt's stand cause I'm a lot lazier. Now, I sleep because I don't care about proofreading after all.
Oh, and I got my last Joe eBay purchase in. Are the rotor blades on the Mamba supposed to be loose? I get that it allows for give should they hit, but good timing would do that too. Ah well, it was mostly complete and cheap enough. Just needs to be washed and peeled of stickers. |

One last post...
Well, I don't want to claim to move mountains, but word seems to have spread about my end to commecting. I would've bought so many Data-vipers just because they looked like good next gen Astro-Vipers to me. And now, they are shelved next to the HiSS Drone and that little bug thing that should've been with the one Jungle Cobra Commander. Be this the fate of Airtight, Lifeline, Sci-fi and the Techno-Viper? Find out in three months when Hasbro doesn't include them in the next Target Exclusive case of Snake-eyes and Dukes. Same old story, same old molds! |

Dude, that is WAY too many friggin duplicates. I bet if you cut down to squads, even, you'd reclaim a lot of space.
My Grunt is the SRO Grunt with the Aqua Viper Officer head. I'm not feeling the new Hawk at ALL. There's plenty of potential there, but that's the thing: it has the potential to be so many things OTHER than Hawk that it could have any other name on the stand. Call me odd, but generic Cobra = win, generic Joe = fail. Take Skydive, for instance... had it been done up in black/blue and red and called HALO Viper (or at least colored like the ARAH counterpart), it'd be on my shelf right now. Instead it's in my BST (via set order from BBTS) and nobody cares. And I never had a Mamba... always wanted one though. Sweet looking chopper. |

Thanks Fogger, I had a feeling that they were fine. Just being an ebay purchase I wanted to make sure I didn't need to glue them down or something.
Hellion, yeah, I'm thinking that I'll put one of the Hydra Pilots and a couple of Lampreys in it if they'll fit. And yeah, it all started out good with just six of each... After the original Viper though, it got well out of hand. But I do have an impressive army. Once I reclaim some space, I plan to set things up properly for display with a few ideas I have. So, be looking for that 2013 or so. As for Skydive, I have a few of him as well. I plan on adding them to the SB ranks. While I agree there should be enough Joes to not really need generic troops, I can't have the Legion of Duke Hasbro has provided taking Cobra hill. |
