wow. so harsh. Coola was trying to be civil and clear his point. you just shot him down, dude. that kind of reaction doesn't bode well for your argument that "Nirvana sucked." on what basis? Coola actually laid down a few facts as to why Nirvana has credibility. what are your facts?
i know there are a lot of haters out there... dude's from the 80's... Randy "The Ram" types... dudes that are bitter because grunge overtook the "fun" out of rock n' roll... and i get that... but as an overall music aficionado, it's quite clear that Nirvana had a profound impact on a subculture that embraced their music... it spoke to them... i was RIGHT THERE when 80's hair band rock n roll morphed into grunge... and those were exciting times... if you didn't get it, it wasn't for you anyways... rock n roll was starting to suck before grunge... that's a FACT. Heavy Metal is a totally different story... Nirvana never claimed to be metal, everyone knows that... Nirvana refused to sell out... they were true to their original form... Cobain couldn't deal with the hype that was starting to surmount around him... i don't agree with what he did to himself and, most importantly, his daughter... that's just cowardice... but there's no denying that as far as contributing to the evolution of music, Nirvana has been way more instrumental than Megadeth... i mean, seriously... no freaking comparison. Megadeth has always been a one trick pony. Nirvana doesn't suck. Dave Grohl does. |

dude - we love Helloween, we love Megadeth, we love (old) Metallica, and of course King Diamond and Slayer.
What are your thoughts on the following: Anthrax Nuclear Assault D.R.I. Sanctuary Savatage

Hard choice, I love both. I choose Metallica because Master of Puppets is, IMO, better than anything Megadeth put out.

I have not checked out nevermore - now I will thank you! Hellsyeah! You must check our D.R.I and Savatage. D.R.I. (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) are hardcore thrash/punk. I can't think of anyone else (who was a national act at least) who sounds like them. Savatage is pure 80's/90's metal. Lots of material for you to check out. 2 different singers at various times - check out "Hall of the Mountain King", "Gutter Ballet", and "Edge of Thorns". A couple of guys from Savatage are in "Trans Siberian Orchestra" and the 1st and current singer has done some broadway work as well as writes all of the music for the band (even when they had the other singer). These guys are semi-friends from my Florida days - check em out!
