I'm not on team "Re-release the HISS," but the HasLab included a lot of extras beyond what we expect for a standard vehicle release. Tactician, Gunner, CoCo, and the vehicle upgrades would likely be left out of a standard release so it's probably reasonable to talk about pricing absent those items.
I like arctic themed Joe/Cobra stuff. But I also think they're likely not huge sellers. Which I why I think a blue or red HISS would be a better choice. Someone mentioned not liking the blue from the original v3 HISS. There's no reason they'd be beholden to using that shade of blue. They could release the HISS in a blue to match the Cobra figures they've been releasing. |

This. The Haslab HISS had a lot of extras. 3 extra figures and vehicle upgrades could be left off a potential HISS tank redeco release. Certainly that would result in a lower price.

Why would we assume that? Hasbro already has invested in all the tooling for all that too, so why not include it and keep the premium price point? And, if all that stuff were unlocks, we technically shouldn't count that in the pricing expectation as those are bonuses and not part of the original price point as they are not guaranteed. For example, Giant-Man not getting the final head didn't bring down the price for backers.
Your target market is people who got into Classified sometime after the Summer of 2022, have the money to invest in a larger/more expensive vehicle, but not so much that they can pick up one of the sub-$400 HISS tanks off eBay right now...and people who were too broke/cheap/preoccupied to buy one two years ago. I think it's fair to think about price as a selling point. |

Got the Action Soldier, he has some quirks but is overall good times.
I hope Winter Baroness, has her thermal socks on, maybe even heated ones as walking around in boots that thin in snow is inviting frostbite. Gorgeous outfit though so that one is a large "YES PLEASE". Perhaps in a two pack with overcoat Destro or Coated Commander. Quote:
//// Someone said something that to be honest never crossed my mind.. I thought they'd just release a Crimson Hiss with a female Crimson Gunner or an Arctic Hiss with an appropriate driver. It never crossed my mind they could keep all the tiers (in some form). I.e. Crimson Guard Female Gunner, Crimson Guard Male Drive (actual Hiss Tactician in Black or Purple) & Cobra Commander in Red. With some thing similar with an Arctic Hiss.. now I think about it having Tier figures again makes perfect sense for a Hiss repaint and preserves the value of the original. But ones they can get out quickly enough that we'd not have to wait 16 months for a release. & even better though who don't want any of that stuff can sell it on and recoup some of their costs for the Tank too. & those who like it will feel like they got better value than they would have for a $250 Hiss repaint with 1 figure. Seems like it'd be a fairly easy bash if you want a placeholder. You could use any of the Marvel Legends White Widow options (there's even one for relatively cheap with blast effects and a stand!). Then it's just a matter of finding a white softgoods coat and a Cobra sigil waterslide.

I think it is a little wishful thinking to expect Habro to go to all the effort to re-engineer a $200 version of a $300 toy by dropping extras that were just icing on the cake in the first place. I honestly think it is a legitimate question: is there an appetite for a non-HasLab $300 HISS for people who missed out or want it in a different color? Or, are people really saying they want a $200 version of the HISS? The latter is a fair argument to make, but I think it is a very different position than the former. Personally, I would be fine with a reissue or recolor of the full HISS package. I'd be less fine with something coming out at 2/3rds of the price. But I had zero issue dropping $200+ per Figma tank so price isn't an issue for me. I'll buy less other lines. |

Ah, that makes sense. Even that's a LOT, though!
I'm happy to just have the original lineup (I don't count the Droids or Ewoks lines), and to have bought them before COVID struck and prices went crazy... Of course the last two I waited to get was Pop-up Artoo and Yak Face, but whatever. I've stepped away from ML (it's just too much!) but I would make an exception for a Hoff Nick Fury. He'd be a great addition to the Joes! With all the Multiverse stuff going on you never know, could happen. A Ferrigno Hulk would be pretty fun, too. |
