I think this should have happened after the first or second TF movie, just call Josh Duhamel's character "Hawk" and Tyrese Gibson's character "Breaker" or "Dial Tone". There was a 1SG in the original, call him "Duke"... The rest of those Rangers get OG-13 callsigns too.

The trio of Joe live-action films had a combined $718.5M box office while Last Knight had a box office of $605.4M. TF:LK might be utter crap, but in the case of the Joe franchise, I think they call that "failing upwards" nowadays.

So how does this make sense timeline wise? They haven't been clear about whether Bumblebee is a straight up reboot or a reboot at all. Chronologically the other transformer movies take place after Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts, so where was GI Joe during that time period?

A GI Joe movie like The Rock would be great. A GI Joe movie like Ambulance, not so much. So that makes it a question of which Michael Bay a theoretical GI Joe movie would get. Either way, I'd like to see what he could do with the Joes. Quote:

I love that movie. I wish more of Michael Bay's movies were that good. (It probably helps that it has the always awesome Sean Connery, Michael Biehn and Ed Harris in it.)

Either way, I'd like to see what he could do with the Joes. I would call it a draw. Nic Cage flew off the rails of good acting and not even Gary Sinise could save him. Also, the dad from the Transformers was in Snake Eyes (1998) too. |

Yes. The Rock was only Michael Bay's second feature as a director after the surprise success of Bad Boys. He was an up-and-coming talent, but Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson were the big name producers who wielded all the power on that production.
By the time he made Transformers, Michael Bay was an established A-list director and a "brand" unto himself. Spielberg had no interest in reigning him in. Spielberg hired him because he wanted Bay to do his thing. |

Will this result in GI Joe becoming Headmasters?

I don't care one bit about the quality of the films, I just want them to be successful enough for Hasbro to greenlight more figures.

The best G.I.Joe movie is Predator and that could have only been made in the 80s. The ship has sailed.
