This is a little disappointing, I generally like Andrew Koji's portrayal of Storm Shadow. It's unfortunate that the casting was wasted on a subpar movie. Seriously, why did they have the director of RIPD direct Snake Eyes? As opposed to the director of the Wolverine.

Let's be honest. They could have named the movie Rise of Storm Shadow and it would have made more sense. It's whatever though. I knew the movie would flop. I'm just happy the simple change to a 6in line had such a huge impact on the sales numbers of action figures. At the end of the day, the figures bring me joy. It's rare that I watch any movie more than once.

Or don't listen to the fans at all but just make something compelling and of quality.
Guardians of the Galaxy movies have been hugely successful. More people know that property now than have ever read any of the comic books. The only character with even a passing resemblance to the source material is Rocket Raccoon. But it doesn't matter, because the movie was good enough with enough reach to make more new fans than the decades of source comics did. Listening to Guardians comics fans wouldn't have improved on that. They don't need to listen to fans, they just need to make good product. The two things are not intrinsically tied as much as fans want to believe |

The two things are not intrinsically tied as much as fans want to believe The real trick is to stay true to a character while creating an original story. One of the reasons The Amazing Spider-Man films weren't well received is because they made Peter into some annoying skater punk. Regardless of the story you tell, Peter should always act like Peter. That's where the G.I Joe films failed. Almost none of the characters felt right in the way they were portrayed.

Hollywood big wigs will always take an already long running popular and successful IP and put their artistic spins on it as if it needs to be severely revised to make it suitable for mainstream non-nerds. They can't control their egos.
