Good thread. I'd like to see ARAH continue with #301. I'd like Hama to be involved, but only as a creative consultant or editor. I'd like to see a smaller Joe team (I know that isn't popular here), perhaps the 13 most iconic members. I'd like to see more than one enemy: break the Dreadnoks (yes, including Zandar), Destro, Firely, Major Bludd and others off on their own, independent of Cobra. I'd like these bad guys to be major threats, not comic relief. I'd like the art to be top notch (Diaz, Schoening) and for the covers to be iconic and a tease of the story (vs. pinups). I'd like stories to more closely resemble the first 50 or so issues of the series: fun stories with less set up and more action...

I would like to see more aggressive, realistic military action.
Although peppered in there between and throughout I want to see more of the obscure characters and less of the common ones. A good balance is 1 or 2 regulars with a few very unlikely characters (Bullet Proof, Gears), and a classic specialist we see sometimes (Shockwave, Blizzard). Also a massive change to the Cobra hierarchy. Massive. Like a whole new command structure. With an actual thought-out series of goals which make sense.

Could be great to have Extensive Enterprises as an organization funding them all. I could see a slightly bigger roster than 13 for the Joes, but certainly not as many as we've seen. Pick your core 13, with a supporting cast of 13 and that's easy to develop storylines. |

Speaking of the license, things have gone quiet for awhile now. It makes me wonder if things have fallen through with the Skybound deal that was highly speculated.

Either that, or they just have to be quiet for now due to contracts.

Yeah, it's entirely possible that we won't hear any news until after #300 is published in December--so maybe we'll know something in January 2023.

Yeah, I suppose there is a possibility that there are gag orders in place for this particular deal.
I know when Dark Horse lost Conan to Marvel, it was announced nearly a year before the license expired, and just recently, Conan was announced for Titan in 2023 despite Marvel still having the license at the moment (presumably till the end of the year, since they are still soliciting Conan stuff. But a large company like Hasbro might be more secretive than whoever the rights holders are for something like Conan. Now that I think about it, I don't think G.I. Joe's IDW news was announced until sometime after DDP ended their run if I recall correctly.

We made need to prepare ourselves for the possibility of there no longer being a G.I. Joe comic in publication.
