Google it.
You can start here, but I'm not going to do all the work for you. https://www.slashfilm.com/bumblebee-deleted-scenes/ Quote:
And for the record, 135 million doesn't include advertising, so your math is wrong, too. But again, I didn't call it a bomb, I said it made a small profit from overseas receipts. Last edited by lantern48; 11-16-2019 at 06:22 PM.. |

You quoted a whole paragraph and said citation needed. Maybe try being a bit more specific in the future?
What specifically about the profit/box office can you not find on google? Last edited by lantern48; 11-16-2019 at 08:12 PM.. |

Here, this will help you: https://www.investopedia.com/article...make-money.asp
Budget: 102 million Box office: 468 million That's over 4.5 times its budget. Now compare that to the Last Knight Budget: 217 million Box office: 605 million That's roughly 2.7 times its budget. |

That's ok, you obviously can't help yourself to learn. It would be like getting frustrated with someone who has Down syndrome. Last edited by lantern48; 11-18-2019 at 11:21 AM.. |

I linked you to an article explaining how movies made money and yet you still don't know how it works. You mistakenly believe movie studios keep all the money from ticket sales and don't spend money on advertising.

Actually, I'm autistic, but still.
Is this better? https://screenrant.com/bumblebee-mov...ht-comparison/ And they are also not adding in Bumblebee's marketing budget. Quote:
However, Bumblebee also cost a lot less than Bay’s Transformers movies, with a reported budget of $135 million before prints and advertising,
135 million is BEFORE marketing costs are added on. Most studios don't disclose how much they spend on advertising, that's why I linked you to that article earlier. Typically, a movie like Bumblebee has anywhere from a $60-$80 million marketing cost. More for bigger blockbusters that routinely go over $100 million in marketing costs alone. So the break even number is not 270 million, it's $135 million plus the marketing cost, then roughly doubled (don't forget overseas take is only 40%-45%, not half). Let's go on the absolute low end and say it was $60 million. $135 million + $60 million is $195 million. Then 50% of ticket sales here in the United States goes to the studios and the other 50% to the cinema chains. Overseas, only 40%-45% goes to the studios and the rest to the cinemas. That's how you do the math. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/releas.../gr2098156037/ US take: S127 million. Half of that goes to the studio, so $63.5 million. International take: $340 million. We'll go on the high end and say they got 45% of the cut even though it was probably lower. That's $153 million that goes to the studio. $153 million + 63.5 million = 216.5 million. They spent around $195 million to make and market it. 216.5 million - $195 million = $21.5 million. Give or take several million. There's your small profit due to sales overseas.
