"Matthew (Hasbro Pulse) Jul 23, 11:03 AM EDT Hi, We do want to sincerely apologize if you feel that your overall experience has been less than satisfactory and for any delay in our response time. We do apologize that it appears the system did cancel your order on 7/17/19. Normally we would suggest replacing the order, but since the items are no longer available we would be unable to fulfill a new order. We do value your experience with our storefront and would hope that there is a future opportunity to fulfill your expectations. Warm Regards, Hasbro Pulse" In other words, "Uh, we dunno what happened, so kindly fuck off. Please shop again though!" |

Man, Hasbro Pulse sucks. They cancelled my pre-orders for Crait Luke, Death Star Lackee and etc and then told me they were no longer available when I asked WTF. Yet, there they are on the site, still available for pre-order. Worst of all, when they cancelled, I lost a $5 coupon for taking some survey. So basically, they fucked up and won't do anything about it. That's my sign that I don't need to be collecting Star Wars shit anyway.

That Hasbro Pulse response is total BS.
You can’t treat your consumers like shit and then respond like that. Well, obviously you can but it’s not right. I will never fathom how they screw up getting this line out to the collectors. Star Wars is a brand that you would think demanded better.

Yeah I’ve noticed the same thing in my account. Canceled orders replaced by new orders. So far I’ve had had no issues myself.

Anyone looking to pick up the retro figures they are up for pre order on Etailers all over town.
I really wish they did not go with the foe wear the for weathering on the card art. Having the figures in the plastic trays alone is enough to telegraph that they are not the 1978 originals.

Well, I've decided to get petty about Hasbro Pulse and Hasbro in general. I don't talk about this much, but I work closely with Disney in a number of ways and my opinion is actually listened to by the big D. Especially on matters of consumer products. Hasbro's customer service has been a huge let down to me and is definitely not up to Disney's standards, so I've relayed my experience to Disney and added it to the list of complaints already compiled. Basically, I'm recommending Disney does not renew the licenses for Star Wars and Marvel action figures in 2020. I figure, without GIJoe, wtf do I care about Hasbro anymore anyway. Besides, it's time I got out of the acquisition phase and really concentrated on enjoying what I already have.
If I tip the scales and Hasbro loses Disney, and it leads to worse products, my apologies in advance. The truth is, it would take a lot more than me (like a serious underbid from Mattel) to cause something like that, but my opinion is valued and actually does carry some weight. It sounds to me like the license fight may just be tighter than people realize and there are plenty of complaints against Hasbro for poor distribution and service (those are the very things that cost Mattel the Disney doll license a few years ago). So, anyway, fun shit! |

Well, color me intrigued. Losing the Disney license could be a great boon for Joe as Hasbro would need to double-down on their own IP. Whether or not the big red nose/white face paint crowd who has created such a dumpsterfire circus can execute a Joe revival is another story.
I've been a Hasbro supporter all my life, but they've been resting on dubious laurels and they've let Joe rot. The final straw for me was the firing of so many good people...I realized then, I really have no reason to care about Hasbro. Plus, yeah, shitty customer service. Fuck 'em. Honestly, we should all be rooting for them to lose these licenses. Regardless of all that, Hasbro's not getting anymore of my cash. Definitely done with Star Wars and Transformers, and it would have to be really amazing Joe product for me to even consider buying that. Last edited by SmokeBellew; 07-25-2019 at 08:19 AM.. |

Well, I was a bit tipsy (local holiday here yesterday) when I wrote that, so I have to reiterate that my petty complaints will have very little to do with the renewal decision, but you never know. Best case scenario is not only what you stated and maybe losing license cash cows will force Hasbro into dusting off GI Joe, but that someone like Mattel or MGA makes a serious play for the license and hires DDP, Mark Weber and other good people Hasbro let go to oversee it all. Worst case for Star Wars/Marvel action figure fans would be Hasbro keeping the licenses...or Jakks Pacific getting them.

Definitely done with Star Wars and Transformers, and it would have to be really amazing Joe product for me to even consider buying that. I’ve been happy with Hasbro since the Pulse launch. It seems, to me anyway, that since the Star Wars figures have been sucking wind with the new trilogy (not Hasbro’s fault) Hasbro has really started to appreciate the adult collectors this year. The Sail Barge and the 2019 4” line is heavy OT, and I could not be happier with Hasbro’s handling of Star Wars recently. I don’t really know anything about the industry but I do feel that the distribution blame seems to be a retailer issue more so than a Hasbro issue. Exclusives seem to be less exclusive, that’s a good thing, and the SDCC items will be made available to gen pop later this year. The retro figures are now widely available. Personally I feel that 2018/19 is a fun time again to be a 4” SW collector. But I’m assuming our experiences may be very different. I’m not looking to open up a cans of worms but with Disney’s handeling of the franchise I’m not sure that Hasbro would even want to carry the license any more. You’d know better than me, but I hear that Hasbro now pays a lot of it and Disney gets to make the calls. So who can we really blame of all the leg warmers. The OT seems to be the only section of the property selling. Though I grabbed a new Sand crawler, I don’t know that I’d want to continue collecting if the brand was not in Hasbro’s hands. That’s just me. I’ve always been Hasbro kid. But you bring up an interesting point about our jobs. If you all knew what I do you’d all love me or hate me. I feel it’s a good thing. But you never really know who’s on the boards, profession wise. It it’s nice to know that I’m not the only drinker here. ;).
