Problem is, it takes awhile to build the sort of manufacturing system that's in place in China where there are hundreds of factories that can be contracted to produce these sorts of limited run projects. Eventually Vietnam will probably have something similar, but right now they just don't have enough factories to handle the migration from the big guns AND these small-time sorts of jobs. I know this because a company I do some work for had to scrap their own plans to move production to Vietnam because they just couldn't find a factory with an open slot anywhere near the timeframe they needed.

I got word from Chicken Fried Toys that their shipment might just make it out before the tarrifs go into effect. Fingers crossed.

Catrina said in an FB post that moving to Vietnam simply isn't an option due to costs. One of the issues is that the molds all weigh too damn much and they have so many that it would ruin them to simply transport them to another country, much less with the added cost of training the new factory and lost income while they do so.
Eventually other nations will catch up, but it'll take awhile. I think India is on an equal footing with China, but the labor there is more expensive than the emerging industrial nations. I wouldn't be surprised if, sooner than later, China itself will be moving a lot of production to Africa. They've been investing heavily in many African nations. |

Right, I understand we're in for high prices... but that's on items I haven't already purchased.
I'm more concerned about having to pay more to get what I already paid for. Are my purchases going to be held hostage? This will destroy these little, dinky startups that are already struggling.

MJ Sullivan made a post on Facebook to clear the air about the tariffs. He said:
"Hey Folks! We posted an update about the slight shipping delay which is the result of a HUGE number of new items in this release, some last minute tool adjustments and some very COMPLEX paint applications...nothing to do with tariffs. We mentioned the new tariff expense to inform our supporters that the delay was not only disappointing but there will be additional costs for US to absorb. We are not raising any prices or passing anything off to our supporters. We love our country, we love our supporters and live by the motto "don't fear a short term inconvenience that will result in a long term gain." Our update was informative and not political, so please let's keep the comments on the page politics free and only about cool toys! We are bombarded with politics EVERYWHERE...so it is great to have a place just to enjoy a hobby. Thank you! MJ" Just thought I'd pass this along here on the forums. Jason |

Any word on when the brown contractor ops may hit the online store?
The ‘Theodore’ head / suit color was announced as a show first exclusive 3/2, then made it to the store 4/13. The brown contractor ops was announced as a show first exclusive 3/25 and hasn’t hit yet. |

I'm waiting for a grey contract ops so I can make an easy Terminator (since easy Sarah Connor is already here) and a blue agency ops (just because...blue suit).
