How much prep work did you do to the fuselage before getting it re-vac matalized? Did you sand off the majority of the metal still attached and buff it as smooth as possible?

I removed the stickers and hit it with some Goo Gone to remove the residue. Doing that took off most of the remaining finish in the areas of the stickers. I didn't do any other prep aside from the standard washing it off with hot water and Dawn.

That's fun. ^^
I was lucky and got two business cards from Joes Customs at the Con in 2016, they came with a BAT chest lenticular piece you could cut out yourself.

Hey all. Was wondering if anyone has been able to fix a broken rotor on a dragonfly or tigerfly. I have not tried yet, thought i would ask here first. I have two that have the same problem. The top rotor piece is broken off but the switch on the body still truns the peg. Thanks.

Do you guys know of somebody that made GI Joe X-19 Phantom decals in stealth colors? I'm restoring a custom x-19 and the decals appear to be the waterslide kind, but they put them on the plane after they had painted it with flat paint and they have some silvering. I don't want to mess with them until I find replacements. Any help would be awesome.

Got an original Lamprey that was in great shape, mostly just apart from some severe paint rub on the helmet and a loose neck joint. Put a layer of nail polish on the neck ball to tighten it, and completely repainted the helmet. I still had his gun, too, from when I got the mail-away version 30-odd years ago.

New decals and a car wash for the 1994 Cobra Scorpion.
Before: Wash: All dry and looking great: New decals from ToyHax.com There's a few custom decals on the ToyHax sheet and there's not really instructions on where to put them, so it's up to you.

That Scorpion looks great. An underrated vehicle IMO. Always enjoy seeing your restorations!

I've never posted pictures of my restorations before because I never take any. This one was special though. A while back I bought a Sky Raven on eBay and sent it's shell out to be re vac metal plated. I have the before pictures from the eBay auction and the after pics that I took after an extensive (And expensive) quest for missing parts.
Sorry if my pics aren't the best. my camera is pretty old. It also might have helped if I dusted the Sky Raven. |
