Thanks, Elmo!
Too late! As noted on the previous page, I gave the robot to a friend. Last edited by Monte Williams; 05-12-2018 at 08:36 AM.. |

Thank you, heymilt and Redmist!
Inspired in part by Jon Krakauer's "Death of an Innocent" (the article he later expanded into the book Into the Wild, the basis for the film of the same name), particularly the line "The heaviest item in McCandless's half-full backpack was his library," I decided Tunnel Rat is conducting some literary research so he'll be prepared if The Baum Squad ever returns. These Baum Squad Kooks Were Onto Something OR My Toys Are More Well-Read Than You by Monte Williams, on Flickr I bought the miniature Oz books on eBay. The store is called Little Things of Interest. They're pretty neat little books, although the back covers are just blank, which is a bit disappointing. Here are some logos I slapped together for The Baum Squad: More on The Baum Squad here: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...book-club.html |

I was going for a climbing vibe, but instead he looks like he's web-slingin' like Spider-Man!
Meanwhile, I like the idea that Tunnel Rat is such an introvert that he hides out in underground caverns for solitude: Every Day Below Ground is a Good One by Monte Williams, on Flickr Great Escape by Monte Williams, on Flickr Moving on... PicMonkey has a tool called Sunglow. I decided to use it to suggest a flashlight, with uneven results: The flashlight is just a chunk of a pen I broke off: Finally, I don't achieve these silly creative "triumphs" alone; I get by with a little help from my photography assistant. |

Terror Drome Surveilance Video by Monte Williams, on Flickr Assault On Castle Destro by Monte Williams, on Flickr Attack On Terror Drome Four by Monte Williams, on Flickr (Unfortunately, the "Attack On Terror Drome Four" ended up looking like what it actually is, which is an attack on our washer and drier. Oh well.) I Can See My House From Here by Monte Williams, on Flickr The Dharma Initiative by Monte Williams, on Flickr I'm a big fan of the wildly uneven television series Lost, so I thought I'd imply that Tunnel Rat performed some freelance duties for the Dharma Initiative. And then I created a combined Adventure Team/Dharma logo: It's not the first time I've combined the AT logo with another iconic symbol: Two more shots to draw things to a close for now: |

Thanks, phantro! Here are a few more shots, since I can't stop photographing this damn toy.
This week, I got some awesome new companions for him, as well as a very unlikely accessory that no one else will possibly admire as much as I do. |

Tunnel Rat's finally getting serious about infiltrating The Baum Squad:
Of course, he'll need a convincing ID badge: This might be the dorkiest thing I've ever done, and lord knows that's saying a lot. And yes, I do hope to procure the Barbie Tin Man and Scarecrow as well. |
