I'm all for a reboot at this point.

At this point, I wouldn’t say no to a Bollywood musical inspired by Funskool’s G.I. Joe.

So if Paramount still has the TF and Joe properties what does that leave Allspark with My little Pony? Gem? Battleship? We seen how well the latter two did already. How do they plan to create a Shared Universe with out the ability to use its two biggest properties or can they still be used like MCU did with Sony for Spidey? Granted Joe is far from what it was but it is still a much bigger Brand Name than M.A.S.K, Visionaries, etc so I personally can't see these being major summer blockbusters without them or am I missing something?

if they do have this movie x-over thing there has to be levels of command. so like of all the lines involved who is the head bad guy. of all them who is the most evil? megatron?
same thing for the good guys. it would make sense that general hawk would be in command of all the good guys since its earth and he leads a military unit. but i cant see prime taking orders from hawk. what is the hierarchy going to be for this universe. if its just a bunch of characters running around doing their own thing it will get confusing real quick and the plot will suffer. with all those characters you would need a 4 hour movie to cover just the basics. if the first movie is joe and tf with hints of other people as a sub plot or events of the movie lead you in a direction with a after credits shot showing you characters for the "phase two" movie that would be like mask vs someone. so its gi joe meets tf. i guess they battle till they figure out they are friends against the cobra and decepticons with wraiths mixed in as humans with hints of them being evil. then mask meets visionairies and that whole thing, mix in the wraiths. then micronauts meet rom with the wraith reveal. so whats the culmination movie. everyone finds out about the wraiths bc of rom. all the good guys team up vs all the bad guys, toss in some wraith action with the end of the movie being everyone vs the wraiths? wraiths die then what they all turn and look at each other and go well i guess the truce is over and as they go to fight good vs evil it cuts to black the end? if something like this is in the works it will never get past the first movie. i will see the joe tf movie and thats it unless the joes are featured heavily and i mean heavly in the rest of the movies. i love mask almost as much at joe and more the tf so if the trailers look good i might be down for that to but i'll probably have stopped off at the pub before hand if you catch my drift. |

I say it should be done like lego. Have it all in some old guys basement, reliving out his Vietnam experience through the action figures, as he tells the epic story to his grandson.
I could see the intro now. Mom drops off son at her fathers. Thanks him for helping out in these difficult times. Then tells her dad, now don't go telling him your war stories, you'll give him night terrors. |

All this talk about a shared Hasbro movie universe and absolutely no results at all.
They put together a writer's room and the best they can come up with The Last Knight. There's not going to be a shared movie universe. |

I'd add a couple of other facts to the list:
ROC had a production budget of $175 million and made $302 million worldwide in ticket sales. Retaliation had a production budget of $130 million made $375 million worldwide in ticket sales. /facts I would guess GIJoe 3 will happen, eventually. Maybe with a cameo from TF or MASK. And I hope in my heart of hearts they adopt the gimmick of sticking the sequel number into the title, so it's called "G.I. Jo3". That would be just the best. It's about toy sales really, it's like Star Wars, really no matter how well it does in theaters, the real money is in the toys and merch. The first movie would have never gotten a sequel with how it did in theaters, it was toy/merch sales and licensing that got a sequel made. Retaliation screwed up with the movies delay and the merch being release 9 months ahead. Same thing with Renegades and not having merch to go with it till after it was essentially over with. Hasbro has had lot of problems with their merch tie ins when it comes to GI Joe Quote:
The Hasbroverse movies is never going to happen unless Paramount makes it happen, and all they care about right now is Transformers which is now in a questionable state unless Bumblebee is a success Last edited by PanzerKrake; 11-27-2017 at 02:47 PM.. |
