Don't forget J Jonah Jameson's cameo in the GI Joe line. Issue 95.

I am the most surprised that this actually even surprises anyone. Drives me nuts that people try to act like Joe is not imn with the other Marvel stuff, the Transformers connection and the issue IJ links above, which I have, and there are other little hints all through out.
This thread has interesting timing, as I play lost of different toys together but for the last couple of weeks I have had the really great classic Spiderman from the recent MU wave accompanying the rolling Thunder and Havoc two on the shelf in my closet where I dress each day ... Its like my super premium display spot where whatever I currently fiddling with the most stays. But Yeah Spiderman is helping the Joes in that spot in my collection for a few days now. Mind = blown!

A few more Spider-Man references:
In the 1st season episode The Synthoid Conspiracy pt.1 when Duke is outnumbered by the Dreadnoks he gets surprised by Zartan to which Zartan replied "You were expecting maybe Spider-Man?" In the 2nd season episode My Brother's Keeper, both Sgt. Slaughter and Sci-Fi attend a science fiction/comic book convention and you can spot a Spider-Man poster hanging after the first commmercial break. |

As far as the 80's Sunbow/Marvel animated shows are concerned-- safe to say they're all part of one big shared universe. Even Jem could be in there, I suppose (or "Bigfoot & the Muscle Machines" or...make your own cheesy reference HERE).
Concerning the 80's comics. Yes, it's true that Spidey was in Transformers #3...and Transformers villain Circuit Breaker made a quick cameo in "Secret Wars II". However, there are "No-Prize Explanations" for how this is NOT the regular mainstream "Marvel Universe" (or "Marvel-616" or whatever it's called. The one with the Avengers, FF, X-men, etc.) 1- Supposedly the Spidey that appeared in Transformers #3 was "the Spider-Man of THAT particular universe" (Nick Fury also makes a cameo and makes a reference to a certain giant lizard, to complicate matters). So what happened to this Spidey? Did he separate from the black costume, marry MJ, hang out with Ben Reilly, etc? Nobody knows...or cares. 2- Circuit Breaker appeared in two or three panels in "Secret Wars II". But she only appeared to the all-powerful Beyonder. So this one's easy to No-Prize by saying that the Beyonder temporarily crossed over into the Transformers universe, as he's a guy who could absolutely swap universes with ease. 3- This is the biggie that's tough to figure out. For the longest time, Larry Hama stated that the Transformers didn't exist in his little GI Joe world. He didn't write the "GI Joe vs. Transformers" series and (supposedly) never read it. Yet in 1993, he suddenly brought back the Transformers in his little GI Joe world, circa issue 134. So, yeah... So if you WANT the two comic worlds to be connected, they could be. However, both should not be considered part of the "Mainstream Marvel 616 Universe". This was clearly stated in the early days of the comic and they stood by it, ever since. Regardless of any transitive property applications. Yet there were little teases or in-jokes, like the "Duke" stand-in who appeared in "Amazing Spider-Man" when the Beyonder turned an entire skyscraper into gold. To save yourself the headache, consider the GI Joe/Transformers comic crossovers on par with mid-90's stuff like "Batman & Spider-Man" or "Batman & Daredevil". In those stories, they had references to current happenings in each character's title, but they were just "Stories for the sake of it" and weren't tied into the deep continuity. Ditto for stuff like the 1982 "Teen Titans/X-men", "Batman vs. Hulk", etc. If you want a real easy catch-all explanation for all these seemingly unconnected crossovers: there's someone like the Grandmaster, Krona or the Spectre who is temporarily messing around with the fabric of the universe, allowing these "leaks" from one universe into another.
