This week, I review the 1993 General Flagg. I found the '92 figure at retail, but not this one. But, I prefer this darker version overall.

Today's profile is the 1987 Psyche Out figure. I think he's the worst of the three major versions of the figure. But, the character isn't that popular in better paint schemes, either.

Updated a new Rarity/Oddity, figures missing their mustaches:
Forgotten Figures: Rarities - The Curious Case of the Missing Mustache Most of them are likely QC errors. But, they are fun to see nonetheless.

I've never really used this figure as he was after my time. But, the body mold and solid gear more than make up for an odd head.

Today I look at the 1998 Snow Serpent figure:
Forgotten Figures: 1998 Snow Serpent He's my favorite arctic Cobra by far.

If you're undecided on picking up the Red Laser custom Viper figures, here's my run down of the most recent coloring:

Today I profile the Plastirama release of Blowtorch. Antorcha was released exclusively in Argentina. Heavily based on the American figure, he has a few key differences that make him pretty fun to have around.

In no way is the 1983 Snake Eyes "forgotten" at all. He's one of the most popular and iconic figures in the line's history. As a kid, though, he was my original enemy for G.I. Joe and that left him behind once real Cobras showed up. All the later repaints obscured the simple genius of the original figure and I've found a new appreciation for him.

Forgotten Figures: 1990 Sub Zero I completely understand what you're saying--his head sculpt is really wonky, and the painting of it doesn't help anything when it makes him look like a grey-haired granny wearing a blue bonnet. Having said that, if you look at the card art, I think you can see what the sculptor was trying to capture, even if s/he wasn't completely successful. It can be a challenge in such a miniature scale. However, I would LOVE to see someone re-visit his character and the concept now given the artistic sculpting we have seen since the 25th line. Heck, you could probably get pretty close using the Snow Job hood from the 25th release and a beanie-wearing head (I feel like there have been a few of those since '07, but can't remember any off the top of my head other than Shipwreck). My brother had this figure growing up and I always wanted him. Probably for the M-60 gun, ammo belt, and mortar rounds. He was definitely loaded up. I, too, eventually settled on getting the re-colored version, which I really like.
