EDITED: YOU GUYS TALKED ME INTO IT. BATTLE ROYALE BETWEEN THE STEEL BRIGADE AND THE IRON GRENADIERS. I STILL NEED TO FIND THE BULK OF MY IG TROOPS AND THE ONES I HAVE ATTACHED ARE PART OF MY "MESSED UP HEADS COLLECTION" SO DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU
Love the Steel Brigade but in an odd way, I think. I like that they are not Joes, just anonymous support troops. On the other hand, I have a raging desire to turn them into individuals. Therefore, I have been trying to find heads that I don't use anywhere else and put them on these guys. That's bad enough, but then I decided that since there are variants I need to emphasize that a bit. So now there are sub teams (beyond Delta) in the Steel Brigade. Also, since we are now in a world that has finally caught up with GI Joe by having three ranger qualified women and even a female combat officer, I had to have females in the Steel Brigade. So my SB just keeps growing. I stole an idea from OreoBuilder (Peacekeeper I think his name was) to make an overall SB Commander, customized some Urban SB Commanders, and then put some small customization on a few figures. Figure they earned a bit individuality through some act of valor. Setting these up on the dining room table was a chore, since I didn't use stands, but overall when I was done, I was very happy sipping my coffee and watching the SB Commander get his orders from Hawk.

This is awesome buddy! Looks like you have a ton of SB figs and I love the way you are adding individuality to each one of them. The heads look great by the way, they all look great. I look forward to more updates and additions to your SB.

I love Steel Brigadw, and I love what you've put together here. I've done a couple of customs of Rook and I think Checkpoint, but I don't have anywhere near the level of what you have here.
Would you mind sharing the formulas for the female members? |

Since the original concept of the Steel Brigade was individuality (us) with anonymity, I don't see anything wrong with your idea at all.
I myself am a Steel Brigade member. No not talking about Dave's old club. I filled out the forms and sent them to HQ and my transfer was accepted.

thanks everyone. so much fun. All I did was paint some Retaliation Lady J's (I bought a ton of them when they were on sale) to match the regular SB. I think I cut some pouches off of a vest and glued them to the blonde. the female commander is FSS Vypra with a Sif head and Anika vest painted green. I grabbed an extra Skydive helmet and painted it, since it is rubbery and can fit over her head. One of my silliest heads is a VvV grunt, that I put wispy hair and a little french mustache on...crack myself up.

These are excellent! I also have done the same with my Steel Bridges figures & am working on a sub set called "Knight (Steel) Bridges.
I will have to "borrow" that idea for using that Jaye body for the females. All around, excellent sir! |

I love army building! Your SB troops look great - and I love the variety of heads. I'd love to do the same with some of my SB. The only thing I have done is give my regular Steel Brigade troops the same bodies as the SB Deltas so they all have woodland green colors.
I have been looking for ideas to customize some ranks for my Ice Vipers as well. This is quite inspiring! Great job! |

Your obsession is pretty cool. I like your custom details and look forward to an epic Steel Brigage vs. Iron Grenadiers diorama someday.
