I definitely feel that way a lot as well. I have found that a small collection in a small area takes up little space and is there when I want to mess around with it.
I love to see the pics of dudes with entire rooms of Joes, but the thought of actually owning that makes my skin crawl. Having to move would be rough. Last year I had decided that I had the small collection I wanted and I wasn't going to add to it. No more buying toys, I said...and then the 50th part dos came along. I did exercise some control though, no Silent Strike or FOE Striker for me, but in the end, I still bought stuff I didn't need for no real reason other than to buy it. I ordered the case of 50th 2-packs from EE and most of them are still sitting unopened in the box. Hell, I don't even need the new, vaunted Gung Ho as I have a LBC Gung Ho I like better (and that I knew I'd like better even before having the Marine Devastation pack in hand). Point is, despite my best efforts, I'm apparently still a slave to consumerism and irrationally addicted to collecting. |

Partly alot of the JvC/VvV stuff, but I unloaded the stuff I really didn't want. Then there was Sgt. Savage.
Mostly Hall of Fame. I've got 90% of the line and it doesn't display or store well. I bought all of that back when I had money and before 9/11 turned the economy to crap. Now they'e taking up space, and they're not worth enough to undergo the hassle of selling on ebay. |

I regret the action attack Storm Shadow from VVV wave 1 and many of the early wave ROC stuff.

I don't regret much. Since beginning my collection again 10 years ago, I have only bought stuff with intent to use in my diostories. So even though I do have too much stuff, it's hard to regret any of it, because I know that I have a master plan for it all, sooner or later.
That kind of focus helps me keep from making regrettable choices in the first place. |

The current Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line. The scale on those figures are all over the place and there are so many missing paint applications. Its a mess.

...oh if we get to go outside GI Joe then the Star Wars Episode 2 pre-posed unarticulated statues wins hands down. They were the only way to get many of the AOTC Characters until Saga which was a year or two away so I got most of them but hoooooly shit they were terrible and It took until the AOTC wave of TVC until I EVER replaced, upgraded, or otherwise completed the main character cast from that movie, that was almost 10 years later. FWIW this lesson is exactly why I am not getting in on the Force Awakens stuff while its is still 5POA Garbage, I know I will eventually be able to get most everyone as a decent figure so I am not even bothering. They really " Marketed" us out of a lot of money and a lot of value with the Initial AOTC toy line. Those weren't event toys, I feel like Hasbro was feeling out the possibility of just making "Figurines" and seeing if they could get away with that instead.

Don't remind me. I sold mine for a dollar a piece and feel great about it.

You can hang the Skystriker but you have to remove the missiles. Last edited by Dusty Ayers; 10-10-2015 at 09:19 PM.. |
