Nice thing about being in the middle of nowhere, I'm pretty sure I was the ONLY person that came in to Walmart to get any of this stuff tonight (No TRU or Target near me). All I wanted was 6" Kylo Renn and 2 6" Stormtroopers. Got 'em.
2 kids stocking toys at WM. 1 guy and 1 girl. guy says this looks like a cool helmet, (holds up a BB8 helmet). girl says nothing. guy says, not that i like star wars or anything... lololol.

Product was surprisingly thin at the TRU I went to. As noted above, only two, maybe three cases of Black Series 6" figures on the pegs, they went first, leaving only poor Chewbacca on the pegs (guaranteed to be the pegwarmer of that since he's little different from the first release). The basic figures were pretty thoroughly ransacked, especially troopers, Phasma, and Kylo Ren (utterly unsurprising, I know). Rey seemed to be a brisk seller, too.
Titaniums and Legos were going at a moderate pace, vehicles micromachines, hot wheels, and armor series were virtually untouched. Bladebuilder "Jedi Master" sets were in abundance, but no electronic Kylo Ren sabers (or really many electronic sabers at all). Lots of Role-playing stuff. What they didn't have: No X-wings or TIE Fighters, No Black series TIE Fighter, surprisingly few Titan figures, No FX Sabers, No Mashers, No multipacks (Vader/Ahsoka, BB-8 three-pack, etc...). No Titanium multipacks. Swung by Wal-Mart after TRU, and found a lot of stuff there (apparently only about five people showed up for the midnight release there compared to about 2 dozen at TRU. They had the electronic Kylo Ren Saber, LOTS more 6" figures. Also had the Titanium Multipack. Neither place had Wave 2 of anything, and neither place had any fully-articulated 3.75" figures, although it's been confirmed that they WILL be at Wal-Mart, they just don't seem to be part of "Force Friday." And out of all this stuff? I ended up with a Titanium Star Destroyer and 6" Kylo Ren and another First Order Stormie. |

Wow, that was depressing. They only got a few boxes of the basic figures and armor figures and no two packs. They were pretty much cleaned out within the first thirty customers. I was about number twenty and got a few things I wanted (no Ren or Phasma) and checked out as the end of the line was getting in. Some were very loud and angry about the situation. I talked to the manager as she was checking me out and she admitted that she was upset at how little the store was allotted and that it had only shown up the day before. Every prequel midnight madness that I attended had tons of product, but this was a joke. poking around online, it seems that this is not an isolated incident. Drumming up an event and shorting retailers is a dick move. While I understand that I will probably find the things I didn't get tonight, I pity some of the parents I saw explaining to their kids that the store sold out of the figures they wanted and that they would try Walmart in the morning. Disappointing kids (even if only temporarily) is the worst part of the deal...
That is weak. |

I stopped at Wal Mart on my way to work and either they did not get much product or they were wiped out early. Only 2 6" figures left, Finn & Chewie.
A handful of 5 POA and not a single 3 3/4" vehicle. Lots of lightsabers & Micro Machines.

Hit Walmart at opening (guess the one near me recently changed and is no longer 24 hours) and same story as TRU. There were two Rens and Phasmas, meaning they got only one box out. The aisle display they were in was mostly empty from the get go. Maybe they have more and will roll it out over the day/weekend.
Either we will get flooded in the next few months, or this is a further step toward the decline of the action figurads. (Yeah, yeah.. Doom and gloom, the end is near and all that...) this should have been THE event for Star Wars figures, but they were only a small part of the push.

I watched a review of the new X-Wing and it wasn't good. All four cannons were seriously warped out of the package and you have to cram a fig into the cockpit to get it to close. To top it off, the entire body of the toy is so soft you can squeeze it.
The other thing that is killing me about these figs is the downward angle many of the hands are molded in. Honestly Hasbro WTF? It didn't work with 25th GH, and it doesn't work here. In what situation is an angled hand better than a neutral, straight hand and wrist? You will have to put the arm almost straight up for these figs to have a level gun. My rant is nearing an end. Wally as the exclusive 3 3/4 Black retailer? Every Wally I have been to in the last 5 years has had a tiny action figure aisle. Turtles and TF make out okay, but not action figures. Pretty much every toy aisle is trashed all the time so good luck finding a nice carded fig if you are an MOC guy. |

It would be nice if this was essentially the "sneak peek" like we got for all the prequels and by the time the movie comes out we all have our old man Luke figures. I agree with Anthony Daniels, this "top secret" approach is ridiculous and it's taking a lot of the fun out of the wait for me.

Well only got the 3.75 Kylo,Plasma and the TIE Pilot.I have to say I like them.appearance wise these look cool. The 5 POA doesn't bother me too much.My experience I stopped at 3 Walmarts this morning before work. One Walmart had the basic figures on the pegs no other figures were present(the armor figures, the 6 inch,The vehicles) another walmarts display was ransacked no trooper figures at all as well as no vehicles or 6 inch figures. The last I went to they put the display. Near the Walmart.com area in the back of the store.
