I guess I might as well prepare myself for the GIJCC to tell us that Heartwrencher with Dreadnok Assault 4X4 won't be happening. 😔

I would take Marissa, Old Snake and a future Heartwrencher as single, $30 figures, minus the waste of plastic these vehicles are.

Why? I have no doubt in my mind these will sell thru, as will Heartwrencher and 4x4, Though Joe fans are notorious for being cheap, it's funny the astronomical prices some pay for repaints and what not, you can see the fever over the new Blowtorch and Crocmaster right? And what the hell are those. I can't understand why anyone would pay over retail for those in my opinion nonsense figures but to each his own I guess. I think these two mash-ups are neat so I pulled the trigger, I was expecting 60 each but technically its kinda the same but Marissa was cheaper and Snake was more. I guess maybe part of it is because my joe collecting is coming to an abrupt close pretty soon because much like Star Wars there is becoming less and less product I care about.

They will blame us for not buying their over priced merchandise. Too bad we can't all band together and boycott to prove a point to them. Actually they're so high that might happen anyway.

I ordered Marissa Faireborn. There aren't many female characters in either the Transformers or GI Joe universes and I am happy to support the one real crossover character that does make it into toy form.

The Club has an easy sell here. Produce these things at the right quantities by doing pre-orders or something similar.

Bad as it sounds it would be better for them to sink right now.
We need someone in charge who knows what they are doing and has some business sense. These clowns are pissing away a good thing. Because otherwise their prices are going to be comparable. Though certainly, there are plenty of other aspects of their operation that Fun Pub should have long since improved on (website problems, etc...) Last edited by Jmacq1; 07-31-2015 at 08:57 AM.. |

Anyone know if Transformer fans are excited about these sets? Since they do have a reputation as being big "spenders" when compared to Joe fans...I'm curious to see who will be spending more money on these sets?

[QUOTE=Jmacq1;4860145]If you fully "kit out" a Marauder Task Force figure from the shop (and especially if you buy all the accessories and a few weapons besides), it doesn't end up costing all that much less than a Club figure, especially once you figure there's also very little in the way of packaging involved. You pay as much or more for just a headless torso than you would for a full single-card figure at retail. So no, they're not even remotely a "fraction" of the cost.
I'll argue that. Build one on their site with as many accessories that Marrissa comes with. Then look at that crap cycle being worth $5 tops. Marrissa now equals $45 shipped. Now compare that vs. MTF and tell me what you get?

I love the figs and think it is a great idea, but way too pricey. I guess I'll have to make an Old Snake custom. Shouldn't be too hard, at least I don't have to paint eyes.

The prices definitely have the scent of "We can charge these marks however much we want! "
