Thanks guys.
Decided to focus on the transport. Finish the few lingering fab issues and get her painted. Cut up the parts for the hitch yesterday. Then I can get that beast out of the way and wrap up the tank. Ordering stickers today. Getting Havoc stickers as it has a good variety for the transport. What about the tank. Classic Mobat? Mauler? Other? Just looked at stickers. Thinking Mauler... Glued up the hitch pieces and some tank stuff that was ready to go. Also cut up a clear CD case to fit in the lower hatch. The pic is silly, but you get the idea.
Problem: There really isn't room for the legs of the driver due to the tanks axle and it just being tight. I knew it would be tight, but...Think I'll have to sit him way back, which takes away from the fun of the window. Ideas? Oh, waiting to order stickers until I get some thoughts. The Mauler sticker set is better value for sure. Also the Mean Dog set is pretty good too.

Stickers have been ordered. Hitch has been added to the trailer. A little bit of sanding and filler and the transport is ready for paint.
I'm going to paint a few figures to go along, but this is outside my comfort zone. These will be o-ring dudes and limited paint. Is there a liquid mask people use to protect a face while you paint a helmet or just rough it? I'm thinking prime, no? |

Can you cut the tank axle to make room for the figure? Then just use two shorter axles. Also you could just brush paint the helmet no masking needed.

Blood, good call. I dismissed cutting the axle as it really complicates the build. This is actually one of the reasons I'm focusing on getting the transport finished. Once it is complete I can take my time with the tank, ofcourse there is no rush and only in my head, but it would be nice to call part of it done.
I should be able to cut the axle, but I need to figure out how to retain the cut axles and keep it rolling smoothly. I'm definitely brushing something like a helmet and details, but I'm no precision painter. I don't want to have to touch up faces. Mixing flesh tones and painting eyes and eyebrows is out. Steps: Pull figure apart, clean, light sand, light spray prime where possible like the chest, then super carefully paint with a brush? Thanks as always, |

Sounds like the way to do a figure custom. The ones I did I only primed a few of them, the thicker the paint the easier it will rub off around the joint areas. It might be a huge pain to cut the axle and finding a way to hold the new short ones in place.
