Picked up a Solo Elite Gills this morning at Walmart.
They had Solo Elites, the 3 packs, leftover Total Soldier 3 packs, one leftover TS single pack (Gills, oddly), one Corps Elite vehicle (small chopper, like a beefy FANG), and one TS vehicle (the desert camo jet). They also had TS 12", clearance down to $2.50. No new 12", none of the 6" scale. They also had a new pack of toy soldiers in a bucket. Comparing the Solo Elite Gills with the Total Soldier Gills, the new paint scheme is light years better. Not just on color choices but in application as well -- the newer one just has a lot more paint apps. Minor quibble -- he has peg holes in his feet, but no flippers. Hrrn. There is also a greenish/yellow and grey Gills coming packed with an attack boat. Anyone seen these yet? |

All Lanard Toys just needs to do now is re-release that Sky Raptor so that it hits mass retail & more people are able to get their hands on it like me!

Picked up the Corps female. I was going to snag the Curse version but her head is misshapen. She looks great but doesn't quite fit in with Joes. I started swapping heads out and I realized that's the main problem, her head is just ever so slightly too large - which is a shame because it does look great.
Just for kicks I swapped in some common female heads and took pics of the ones that worked better than others. The complications come from the figures molded in back pack which gets in the way of many of the long-haired options. The good side of this means I can go ahead and pick up the Curse version because I can just swap her head out. I think the Valkyrie head will look great on that figure as a new Dreadnok. Anyway, out of the packaging this is a very nice figure especially for the price point of $1.96! Good articulation, feels like he will hold up to rugged play, decent accessories, nice paint, and a really cool sculpt. You can see a lot of detail on his back (well you could if my picture was better) as well as his arms and legs. I like the silver on his chest and the badge or emblem on his right breast. Complaints: His feet are slightly together, so he tends to fall over, but he can stand up unsupported. His right hand is either mis-molded or oversized, so he does not hold the spear gun or pistol well in that hand. The spear gun can be wedged against his body with the stock at least. Both can be held in the left hand no problem. The MARS style pistol is fine in either hand. Note that Snake-Bite, the Corps female, is shown on the back of the Solo Elite card, so maybe we will in fact get a single card release of her down the road? Overall, glad I picked him up!

That's a really neat-looking figure. I may have to try and grab him...

He looks great! Thanks for the pics. Probably the best Gills so far. Pity they always have to cheap out on the backs of these figures. There are loads of cool sculpt details on the back that would look great painted!

I grabbed a 3 pack just now. The one with the puma figure. Not a bad little sculpt. Anyone buy the flying fortress or that nifty tank? I was thinking about the flying fortress cause it reminds me of that helicoptor cobra had in the comics. Just wondering if anyone got it though and how it is.

Does anyone here have the UPC of the 6" Super Soldiers? I need it to get the Wal-Mart guy to find out which stores have it
