Skippy told me that they pushed the 13th to June so they had time to make alterations to the figure.

Skippy told me those nasty dockworkers stole all the 13th figures and were holding them for ransom as part of their ongoing strike. But then Jif told me all the 13th figures were destroyed.

You can't rely on Jif. At least Skippy has worked under Karen's tutelage the past year.

Lucky for me they're not shipping the 13th figure in December I've been waiting so long by my mail box that I would have gotten Frostbitten by now... (Crickets chirping)

For me, with all this drag lagging, all the enthusiasm is damn near gone. I'm to the point to where I won't be excited to see the 13th figure. I'll just be like, oh...the 13th figure came in...whatever.

Which was exactly the lesson learned from Grand Slam... don't make the surprise more exciting, make the audience more apathetic.

I just saw this post on the JoeCon reveal thread:
Saw this on TFW2005. Well written and totally dead on with FunPub. TFU.INFO 17 hrs · Edited · . Posted this as a comment elsewhere, but I feel it needs its own post today. Please share as much as you can: While I've tried to give FunPub the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the convention proper, I am 100% pulling my support from anything BotCon (Official)/ Transformers Collectors' Club (Official)/TFSS/FunPub related beyond things I have already paid for (mainly TFSS 3.0). While I will still archive the toys on the site, I will not purchase anything from FunPub or Botcon until the license for the convention changes hands to another organizer. (And yes, I feel this sentiment/post should be shared, forwarded and retweeted as much as possible.) Images on the site concerning Botcon/FunPub will either be from toys I've purchased second hand or from user-submitted images. Quite frankly, it is a terrible, sad state of affairs when it comes to BotCon (Official). What used to be a great event is longer such; and I say that having had excellent times at Botcons hosted by both 3H and FunPub. However, the continual mistreatment of their customers, the lack of accountability for their actions and words (including repeated moments of racism, be it intentional and/or unintentional), their childish blocking of this site on Twitter for attempting to engage in an honest and frank discussion, their avoidance of being truthful in the advertising, and their duplicitous marketing of "value," have left what was once the annual highlight of the summer as nothing more than a shell of its former self. Moreover, my recent interactions with the staff at BotCon has left me to question my interest in TRANSFORMERS as a hobby altogether. While ultimately I've concluded that there continues to be a tremendous amount of joy and fun remaining in this hobby for me, it is quite a shame that joy and love from the hobby is diminished by the poor business model constructed by Fun Publications and the Transformers Collectors' Club. So, before you fork over a significant sum of money to a company that does not have this fandom's best interests at heart, do yourself a favor and consider just whom that money is going towards. While you may not feel that you have a say in who runs this convention or how it is run, you do. Vote with your wallet. Vote with your dollars. Vote with your credit card (because really, you don't want that number hacked again thanks to FunPub). Show Hasbro, Inc. that while you love their products and their characters, you refuse to ignore that Fub Publications are not the kind of business with which you want those products associated. 'Til all are one. (Minus Fun Pub.) They're not having issues over there are they? That's so unlike the Club. ;) |
