I can't believe no one else has asked yet, but does it still work? Either way it looks pretty cool.

LOL, I never think about it because in my opinion the MOBAT has never worked. In 1982 the battery powered tracks may have had some remote play value, only because we didnt know any better back then but with the current level of RC and motorized vehicles I am lost at why Hasbro wastes money on a motor when they rerelease the MOBAT.

I liked Stompers (The Mobat was essentially a big Stomper) as a kid and they probably still work as well because it is a very simple construction. But with modern RC vehicles being so cheap (compared to what they were 30 years ago) the MOBAT's action feature is more lack luster then spring loaded rocket launchers.

It does not work. I never liked the way the MOBAT worked anyway. I was fascinated with it as a kid but now when I scrounge them up for customs I just don't care. I took the entire rear mechanism out of this one and replaced it with the solid front axle which is a hard top find item.

I have only made one custom using the base of the Mobat but I took the motor totally out and just used the axles that originally came with the tank.

Nice. Very good creative use of the SnowCat. I think the chassis of the snowcat limits its custom potential because of the way it is designed, but switching to a mobat is awesome. I would use the rear area as missile storage. An MLRS is going to eat rockets, especially twelve at a time.
As far as armoring the canopy, sure, why not? But an MLRS isn't generally a frontline vehicle .It is self propelled artillery. |

Not sure what hardboard is but Styrene is definitely the way to go. Plus if done right the vehicle should be as solid as if it was factory made.
