That is what I expect since we have already gotten two of the euro TF guys in a previousm FSS. This years con theme gives them all the reason to add them into a future one. As well as the original version of big brawler now.

*Fixed, but one would hope that we would eventually figures like Outback, H&R, etc. That said though, the FSS really needs to focus on figures we don't have rather than repaints of figures we can always get to eventually.

I like some repaints, like nf and tf figs from the vintage days, but mostly new figs would be more sensible. I wish they would find a fig that would make the fss arrive on time.
Sigh. The 3pack is usually a troop-builder, so maybe targat, some other ig figure, although I'm not sure what is left. The 2pack will be tf, either 2 arah, or 2 foreign.

My guess on the two pack. Jinx and Roadblock. Yes, we already got a RB in 25th, but that isnt going to stop the club from putting one out using the new Rock buck to make an update. as for the 3 pack.. we already hace paratroopers and divers.. what are we missing.. Nullifiers, Targats..whatever the club creates.. guess we get to wait in...antis...ipation.

Why is requesting Tiger Force crazy when we already got Night Force and Python Patrol? Difference being, with those, the club actually focused on filling in the vintage line figures and the international variants that hadn't been released in ME yet. The Club did not use ANY of the 2000s figures from those teams as inspiration for their sets. There were a ton of 2000s Night Force figures and the club didn't remake a single one. The club did their own convention Python Patrol o-ring figures in the 2000s, and they didn't remake any of those for the ME set.
... Seriously, though, I understand and empathize with what you guys are saying. I understand we all have our favorites. I just like almost anything other than TF, PP, and Shattered Glass. I just think all three of those are completely ridiculous. Eco Warriors are neon, but they're at least cool looking. Tiger Force just looks horrible... bright yellow with black striping. It's just awful. But I understand the Club needs to move around the fanbase because there truly is no pleasing everyone with what's left to do, and there was some demand for it... it's too bad they couldn't give you guys what you wanted. 100% happy with a final result or not, a lot of people really like just being involved with the process. That can help compensate for not liking every detail of the final product. They helped build it.
Someone else mentioned this idea earlier in the thread. I really think the club should think about doing this. It would also help to bolster their forum use as I think that would be where the voting/idea submissions would take place. Maybe they could fix the couple of problems people have about their forums, too. All of this would mean the club would have to start thinking about the next convention much earlier than what they do now. Like, while at the CON, announce the dates, location, and theme for the next CON. Quote:
I kind of agree with this too... but I can also appreciate the Club's decision. Their primary goal is to increase attendance to the con. And making these things available to all on the cheap would definitely decrease the con attendance. So I'm not sure what the "right" answer is... I kind of wish they would offer advanced signup for these things at twice the price or something... but then they'd be slaughtered by the members as "greedy". It's a tough situation. |

When I say that I have people to help me grab stuff, I compensate them. But I make it to a lot of cons.. so its not like I just rely on others. Its a give and take.. I help out people that couldnt make it to con and they return the favor when I can't make it. Like I mentioned though.. I had plans to go to con this year, but something more important came up. My fiancée is having a major surgury scheduled just before the con, and has a 3-6 healing process. She will be unable to do anything herself for the first few months..so I am staying to take care of her. I appreciate the people willing to help me out.

I'm saying that many people seem to just advise people to look for people to "help them out" to get these exclusives... for those of us that don't go to the cons (I'm not a fan of travel and it is very costly for me to take time off) this is simply not practical... tantamount to begging. We would be asking people to sell us items for less than they could be selling them on eBay... essentially taking money out of their pocket. |

To touch on Poddie's point as it's a good one...and everyone, please forgive me of this strikes a nerve with some...
The issue at times can be boiled down to simple self-entitlement. Should all members of the Club have access to Club goods? Sure, that's what they pay for. I do, however, believe that the souvenirs at the show are an incentive to come to the show (other than the experience, of course), so those who can't make the show should just understand that hey, you won't get everything. For those that can't make the show but want the souvenirs, there's always eBay. Will "you" pay more for an item? Perhaps, but you won't pay nearly as much as you would for transportation, lodging, meals, etc. Now, as far as getting "member involvement", although it sounds like a daunting task, it could actually be pretty easy. The Club could have, let's say, 2 or 3 ideas for next years set as simply names (ie - Sky Patrol theme, JvC theme, etc) and have members vote through the Club website/boards. Leave voting open for a month. After the month has passed, the "winning" theme can then have another vote - What characters should be included. This will, of course, cause "le butthurt", because someone will feel that Blizzard belongs in the set since we don't have a modern representation yet...ignoring the fact that the theme that one is a "desert theme." Either way, there are positives and negatives on both sides of the house. |
