The Hub Announces 2012-2013 Schedule Sans G.I.Joe - GI Joe News
^ Click above for the full press release. Sad to see that there isn't any G.I.Joe programming listed, especially with a movie coming out. You'd think it would be the perfect time for a cartoon tie-in. Le Sigh. |

Not surprising.
Anything to air in 2012-2013 would have to be in development now. Chances are they have a couple ideas ready to go and are just waiting to see how Retaliation does before pulling the trigger on one.

They're bringing back Duel Masters? The [failed] Yugioh knockoff?
What manner of madness is this?

Hopefully Retaliation does well at the box office, and Hasbro will greenlight a new animated series, but I'm not wild about Renegades returning and it wasn't that successful anyway so, they're going to have to try something new and they probably will. I don't know what the story context will look like, but I'm more concerned what the show will actually look like.
My dream scenario, whatever Hasbro does, is that they go back to Titmouse, the studio that animated Resolute. Even if the writing isn't as good as Resolute, at least it'll be a hell-of-a-lot better looking than Renegades was. But as Denis Miller was once fond of saying, "But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong." |

I'd hope the writing would be better then Resolute, which was decent at the best.

We all saw this coming. Hasbro just doesn't seem to support the brand as much as they should. Look at Star Wars programming and merchandise.

Bah, the only thing I watch on that station is Batman and if that makes it to dvd before hell freezes over I'll cease to even watch that on The Hub.

Beyond that, it's Lucasfilm. Better analogy would be Transformers. Which again, can't really compare with because Transformers is 3x as popular (at least if not more) then G.I. Joe. That G.I. Joe is still around shows how much support Hasbro gives the property. It's not a big seller and they still make figures, try new concepts to get new sales, etc... If they didn't support it, there wouldn't be any Joe merchandise anywhere.

Why is Hasbro not pushing more G.I.Joe with a movie coming out this year?! I don't understand them. I'd like to see a second season of Renegades as long as it's more like G.I.Joe and not like the A-Team Renegades thing we saw.
