Box Office Top Ten: Inception Scores Big

Inception, the best movie of the year in my opinion, took in 60 million and the top spot this weekend.

I enjoyed Inception... it was a great movie, but it left me with the same blank, hollow, empty feeling that the Dark Knight did on first watch. As much as I love the Dark Knight, it was just... a lot to take in at first. I've seen it several times since and it's gotten easier...

Part of me is glad Sorcerers Apprentice is failing. I don't care for stories involving magic where it looks like zero thought was put into how it works.

But man, Despicable Me caught everyone by surprise! They didn't even have plans to make any merchandise and now they're scrambling to have Minion plushies for the holidays.

I was debating on seeing this movie, but the good reviews are making it easier for me

THis doesn't look like a movie that would appeal to me, but it does look well made from what I gleamed fromt he trailer. Cast looks good.

expectations were about $50 million for it. a solid second weekend and you can pretty much guarantee Oscar nomination.

I thought magic was a way to explain other things? Never occured to me that magic would need an explanation for itself. I mean it's magic afterall. I am kind of curuious what you mean.

I am surpised that Despicable Me would surpise the studios. I knew it would be a good one from the first trailer I saw months ago.

I think "Sorcerers ap" was one of the nails in Nic Cages career coffin...

I enjoyed Sorcerers Apprentice. I think the marketing team shouldn't have banked on just the fantasia mop scene brought to life though, that was possibly crapiest commercials I've seen for it. Really, just focus on the movie and the story within and forget the nostalgia crap about this movie having that scene you saw as a kid in that cartoon movie....but this time there's no ballerina aligators and hippos

As for Inception, I could care less, it doesn't seem to appeal to me at all. I am pleased to hear they used a lot of real props and stages instead of going all digital with the effects though.

Predators was the 2nd best movie I've seen this summer behind Toy Story 3.
