Read this the other day. Looks like Jon Favreau will not be directing Iron Man 3.

Meh. As long as Bret Ratner doesn't get the job it won't be terrible without Favreau. Downey is a beast on screen and owns that role regardless of who directs him here on out.

I'm not too worried. I thought they did an excellent job on the first film, but it seemed like everyone but RDJ was lost on the second.

Hmmm. Well, I thought the first IM was brilliant. Very hip, very well made. The second, while still slick and hip, and well made, but it just didn't have that spark that the first had. The villian was an awful choice. Whiplash? Please. I love Cheadle, but I thought he fell flat, and it wasn't his fault. Scarlett Johansen was really nice to look at. I think he had alot of great ideas for the second film, but just didn't get them to translate very well.
So while I like JF, and respect what he did with IM, this might not be a bad move. However, depending on who they get, it could be a disaster. :/

Oh I thought Mickey Rourke played Whiplash to the hilt. He was perfect. It's just that they tried to make Whiplash something he isn't. A bad ass. There are so many better characters that they could have used. In the end, Whiplash is just cheesy. Seriously, he's a shirtless guy running around with whips. I would have loved to see Rourke tackle the Dynamo, or Titanium Man. Also, "Armored Whiplash" was just awful.
