John Carter (on Mars)
A wonderful, underrated movie.

I agree there were movies out around this time that should have kicked off franchises. They were good! John Carter is one, it tanked at the box office but it is a great film based on amazing books, wish Disney would revisit it. The other was the A Team was a good popcorn film that was fun and all of the actors wanted to do the sequel but again it under performed at the box office. There was one or two more but I can’t recall them And I finally saw Endgame today! Pretty good but a to of time travel mistakes |

what annoyed me with John Carter was all the muppets moaning it was derivative when it was the thing all those others ripped off when it's literally 100 years old.

lol So true! What really stinks about John Carter's failure is that it was due in part to the name (I actually overheard one guy ask another in front of a John Carter 1-sheet in a theatre, "John Carter? Wasn't that a doctor in ER?") and also to it's marketing budget being cut so Disney could reallocate those dollars to The Avengers marketing, which they'd just taken over the distribution of from Paramount. It was sorta sacrificed, in a way.
