Dracula Untold - A pretty solid movie. I went into it hoping for a good action movie moreso than a horror or vampire movie, so I was pleased with it. I've never been a fan of Dracula movies, but this one casts him as hero rather than a villain. It's definitely got a superhero-movie vibe to it. I wish it would have done well enough to get a sequel. The only gripe that I have about it is that like a lot of movies, they went overboard with the CGI. I wish they could have made this movie in the late 80's, when practical effects were at their peak, before cgi took over.

Bone Tomahawk - I was really looking forward to this movie, because Kurt Russell is probably my all time favorite actor. But not even he could save this thing. You can tell right when it starts that it's got a cheap feel to it. The sets and cinematography look like something out of a Hallmark western or something. It sets up the story pretty quick, but then it just drags along forever, until it turns repulsive. It's pretty amazing that they got such an incredible cast to be in something this bad. Usually when I buy a movie that I end up not liking, I just give it away. But this thing I want to throw in the garbage. Save your time and money, don't bother with this.

The Abyss (directors cut).
One of my faves and the directors cut gives it a good bite at the end. Sadly it would be the last great movie Cameron would make IMO. True Lies was ok and the less said about that piece of shit Titanic and Pochahantas in space the better. Straight Outta Compton(directors cut) Man oh man. This was my 2nd viewing and it is just brilliant. Love it and will be 100% buying it. |

Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves(directors cut) as a tribute to Alan Rickman.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Easily a top 3 MCU movie for me and it only improves with each viewing. The Russos really GET Cap(Widow too) and this has only served to whet my appetite for Civil War. Run All Night Very watchable and I enjoyed it. Neeson and Harris were great. |
