Judge Dredd, the Stallone version. Still enjoyable apart from Schneider... and the inevitable helmet removal.

Manhunter - As far as the movies go, this is still my favorite Thomas Harris translation. While it looks really dated, Michael Mann's style more than makes up for it. I can't help but wonder why William Peterson never turned out to be a bigger star. He was really great in this. And Dennis Farina was his typical great self. I just wish the blu ray had kept all the dvd extras. I hate when they put out a bare bones edition when there's plenty of stuff available to add.
Now I'm ready to watch the second season of "Hannibal" again. Far and away the best tv show that I've ever seen. Mads Mikkelsen owns that character now. Brian Cox and Anthony Hopkins pale in comparison. And Hugh Dancy has equaled William Peterson as Will Graham. |

Draft Day - Now, you'd think that living in Cleveland and being a Browns fan that I'd love this movie. But no. Instead I couldn't help but wonder how such an awful script ever got greenlighted. Kevin Costner is simply an ass throughout the whole movie. He bitches to his girlfriend, he bitches to his boss, he bitches to his coworkers and he even bitches at his mother. He really looks like he's bored making movies now. He should just go into directing instead, at least he has more of a gift for that. Basically he's just an awful general manager that makes a ridiculous move out of sheer panic in the beginning and spends the rest of the movie trying to dig his way out of that. And by sheer luck and pure stupidity, he can. I have no idea what this movie is supposed to be. It's not dramatic enough to be a drama, there's no (I mean NO!) romance to make it a romantic comedy. The only comedic parts are due to Denis Leary. Without him, this would be one of the worst movies that I've ever seen. The only other things that I could say that were good was that they really made the city look nice, and they had some funny quotes from a local sports radio guy about Cleveland and our misery.
