Captain America: The Winter Soldier on DVD.
interesting to notice, Steve's notebook was the US one, not the UK one seen in cinemas... |

Hudson Hawk - The blu ray is a pretty poor transfer, but it was cheap. Another fun movie that gets panned just because of it's box office receipts. It really should have credited Bruce as Bruno though.

i watched the featurette on the DVD about it. apparently, they did an online poll to get things for various countries/regions to include on the list. (UK, Germany, Italy, Brazil, South America, France, South Korea and Australia were some of them) they also said it was to show he's 'not just an American hero'.
but I too thought it was bizarre when I saw it at the cinema. |

Captain America: The Winter Soldier - Yep, me too. Not sure if I like this more than the first film, but it's at least a tie. They're such totally different styles that it's hard to compare them. One aspect that I really like, is that I kind of identify more with the villain than the hero. Much like in "The Rock", I think Alexander Pierce's goal is the right one. I thought Ed Harris was a great sympathetic bad guy in the Rock. The safety and peace he could guarantee is great, if used correctly. Wiping out people like Tony Stark seems wrong (though he is kind of a mass-murderer in a way, given that he's un-sanctioned). And I saw Jeremy Irons name pop up onscreen in that targeting list. But it was crossed off. Guess they thought better of going after Scar.
One thing that will bug me now that I've read the trivia though is that Kevin Durand was considered for Rumlow. He would have been so much better in the role. Frank Grillo is okay, but he's like 4 feet tall. Durand played a similar role on "Lost", and was great at it. It's like how I loved "The Departed" until I read that Denis Leary had to pass on the role that went to Mark Wahlberg. He would have been sooooo perfect for that. |

Does it bug anybody else that the first hour of the winter soldier is a complete wast of time ? Good god, all the pointless crap and 9 diff. mini conversations about pointless things and they couldn't sqweez in 2 minutes to show Captain American stealing Falcons wing pack ? This is a perfect example of a movie that did not have to be made in the Marvel Movie Universe. They made the hulk, iron man, thor, cap. america movies so that they could make the Avengers movie. stop there please. There going to kill the Marvel movie brand if they keep making bad movies like this. ( On that note, they just borrowed the script from Iron Man 3 " everybody turns against the hero " ) I have been spoiled by the Dark Night trilogy being so dark. Now i want all my comic movie to be like that. It bugs me how Captain America can dodge every bullet shot at him for 1 hour and 55 minutes, till its time for the movie to get dramatic at the end and hes gotta take a few in the back for suspence....COME ON!!! Oh and Falcon is a crap character...always was and always will be. Only good thing about it was the heli-carriers destroying each other. RANT OVER.
