Rise: Blood Hunter....interesting idea poorly done, I mean you'd think a story about a woman turned vampire who hunts those that did this to her down and kills them partnered with a cop whose daughter was kidnapped by those people would have been more exciting...except it was dull as hell.

127 Hours. All I got to say is "Ouch!" I'm never going to feel dumb about being over-prepared when going out in the woods.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor....not as bad as people said it was....not nearly as good as the first two but a watchable enjoyable enough ride.
I think it suffers a bit much from too many changes... -No Imhotep who was a much stonger performance than Jet Li...no offense to Li who is a great action star he just doesn't have the same range Vosloo had in the first two films. -No Anck Su Namun either who really shined in The Mummy Returns. -No Ardeth Bay who was alot of fun in the first two films. -A differant Evy...Maria Bello did a decent job but I missed Rachel Weisz who completely owned that role. -The jump of making Alex an adult seemed a little forced like clearly this was he last Mummy film Fraser intended to do so they had to hand the batton to someone else. Plus he had a accent in the second film but no trace of it in this one. -The Yeti field goal was beyond silly. BUT that being said I think its a solid story, that has a lot of action. |

Finished watching the remake of Dawn of the Dead last night. Overall, I liked it, but the "home movie" scenes during the ending credits really took everything they fought for and made it worthless.
Although, maybe that was the point.

The Ghost Writer
Very Roman Pulanski movie....slow steady build with lots of paranoia...well done...maybe not my favorite movie ever made but it was interesting. |
