I think it was the whole Hitler being shot in that fashion. Then the brutal killing of the folks in the cinema.
It was rough to watch. Part one was fantastic, Can I trouble you for a glass of milk lol. As was the bar basement scene. In fact the basement scene was the best part of the movie, tense and full of brilliant dialog. Also, the killing of the Germen officer with the bat was horrible. Not all Germans we're bad, he was clearly an honorable man and didn't in any way deserve what he got. He got the Iron Cross for bravery, and they beat him to death after the shooting had stopped? It makes them no better then the Germans, I didn't blame some of the other movie patrons leaving and asking for their money back. Not a fan of that nonsense.

I like the movie, simply because it was ridiculous and over-the-top, while also had some very well-crafted scenes. The ones you mentioned were great. The ending had a great build-up with a hilarious payoff.

I didn't watch it because it doesn't look even remotely interesting to me. I'm also sick of Nazi's, Tarentino, and Brad Pitt.

I would have much rather seen Pitt let him go because of how brave he was. It just pissed me off.
All of that aside, It was not on par with the likes of Jackie Brown, Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs.

Wow, I so didn't like it. It was slow and boring. I've never been impressed with Tarentino's dialog. It was just a bunch of pointless brutal violence... wow I don't have a lot of nice things to say about it. I like Brad Pitt, I think he's better than Tom Cruise.

In my opinion, it was the first time in a long time that the dialog in a Tarantino movie actually mattered and just wasn't some pedantic exercise in pop culture references. But different strokes do rule the world.

^I agree Morris. I love Tarantino's movies but sometimes the dialogue is just too draw-out.
As for Inglorious Basterds, I liked it very much. It was a fictional WWII movie, filled with Nazi killing, tons of blood, beatings, throat slits. Just my kind of movie. Whats better then seeing one of the most sadistic pieces of shit get his corpse defiled by an MP40?

I came out pleasantly surprised at how much I did like it. Not his best movie, but his best in a number of years.

The Golden boy has lost his game... I did like Kill Bill 1 & 2.

I liked it, though it was disturbing at the same time.
Say what you will, QT can get amazing performances out of actors. Christoph Waltz was bloody brilliant. I thought the soundtrack seemed like Kill Bill outtakes, though. |
