I’ve been watching a lot of horror movies on Netflix and Amazon this year. They all end up on streaming services because they’re so low budget nobody will play them in a ‘real’ theater. Sometimes you get gems like ‘Savageland,’ that are actually quite good. Mostly not. For every good one I see probably 10 that are unwatchable.
The best horror movie I saw this year was ‘The Witch.’ Followed by ‘The Void’ and ‘The Babadook.’ Last edited by RockinHard; 02-23-2018 at 12:32 AM.. |

Dead Silence is a good one. Never thought puppets could be so terrifying lol
Oh and so is the collector/collection series. Its pretty fucked up, but it has a fantastic villain.

Yes I'm a horror fan, but I refer older films from the 1960's to 80's, especially Italian ones. Mario Bava is my favourite director, but I love just about anything from Argento, Fulci, Freda and the like.
I don't watch that much modern stuff to be honest. 'The Witch' is indeed a refreshingly atmospheric film with no "jump scares". and I also recommend a low budget indie film called "Absentia" from 2011 about a missing husband and 'something' that lives in a spooky tunnel.

Bava;s one of my favorites as well. Quite like 60s/70s Italian horror.

Been a horror fan since I saw Jaws in ‘79! I fell in love with Halloween in ‘80! HBO was Gold back in its infancy and I would not love what I love if not for that great channel! Nightmare, Friday, The Boogens, Humongous, Fright Night, Rawhead Rex, The Omen, Curtains, The Final Terror, and so many more great memories! Rock on horror fans!
