It is weird, the last superhero movie I watched was Logan, in my opinion the movie is bad, it is a routine of the same estereotypes of the "retired superhero that does not want to help anyone since he believe his days of glory are long gone but finally is convinced to help". The commitment with the X-23 subject is also a recooked concept you see on this kind of movies. My point is as much as I considered the movie bad, lackluster and recooked (same old same old) the movie received critical appraise and was considered the best superhero movie of all times. What?! Really? Well I haven't watched Thor: Ragnarok yet, but considering Chris Hemsworth's decision to leave the role of Thor for good after the Avengers and Thor trilogies then we can infer the guy is done with the character and probably not feeling it was helping his career in a significative way other than filling his pockets with money. I do not think this movie will deliver something new or innovative, I watched the two previous Thor movies and I think that was enough.
Plus, Hemsworth has said that working on Ragnarok has rejuvenated his passion for the character. That doesn't mean he'll keep playing Thor ad infinitum, but there have been some mutterings that Waititi, Hemsworth and Marvel may actually want to break the trilogy rule and do a fourth Thor. Bottom line, you probably shouldn't make such sweeping judgments about a movie you haven't seen. Last edited by SmokeBellew; 11-15-2017 at 09:30 AM.. |

Saw it twice, and loved it both time. It is exactly what I want out of a movie....good action, good music, and good humor. I want escapism, and want to enjoy myself when I go to a movie. Marvel keeps hitting it out of the park, in my opinion, with each new movie. I have a bad feeling I am going to be let down with Black Panther though...I imagine it will be considerably more "serious" of movie. Not that that is always bad, but I like a health dose of humor.

I saw it today. It was the best of the Thor movies and also the best Hulk movie, too. But to be honest, I was never crazy about Thor and I cannot even remember most of Thor and Thor Dark World.
There is some lack of weight to the Hela storyline. Do I care about the fate of Asgard...not that much. |

I thought it was really good. Wonder Woman is still #1 this year.
