It was a very enjoyable movie, so much better than The Force Awakens. It's a different type of Star Wars for sure and I expect most will hate it, but I'm a die hard Star Wars fan and thought it was great.

I like how the plot had twists & turns. I’m a Luke Skywalker fan and this was a great Luke Skywalker movie. It exceeded my expectations.

Yeah, I think I enjoyed it even more than Rogue One, which is saying something. Ep. 8 made me feel like a kid again. I was so burnt out on Star Wars, but so far each of the new flicks have given me little jolts of nostalgic...something. Like a sort of subconscious whisper calling up waylaid memories and the feelings associated with those memories. Anyway, whatever it is, it's good shit.

Saw it last night. Really enjoyed it, maybe not as much as Force Awakens. However, the more I've thought about it today, the more I realize I like it. I'm seeing it again tomorrow.

You know i was gonna write a very scathing review, but if you liked it good for you.
I will say this though. My buddy who LOVED force awakens and rogue one fell asleep and i almost did too. After the first hour i just wanted it to be over so i could go home. I did think the Praetorians were pretty cool, but i like almost all crimson guards no matter what lol

Found it completely underwhelming. It wasn’t terrible, but also it wasn’t great.
My main concern after leaving the cinema is the complete apathy for the next film. TFA raised a lot of questions and most were answered, with varying degrees of satisfaction or just swept aside. Other than an interest in the goodies fighting the baddies there are no story strands that have hooked me for the next film. |

I like what Disney is doing with Marvel.
I liked the campy Force Awakens. It reminded me about Star Wars a New Hope and the kids loved it. I liked Rogue One. What was Disney thinking with the Last Jedi? *****SPOILER***** The acting for some of the characters is just not good. There was no time continuity. That scene with Finn and Rose are going to get executed and there are like a billion Storm troopers, then the ship blows up and magically everyone is dead except Finn and Rose and a couple of troopers. BB8 driving an AT-ST? Come on man..... Also I will not go into detail because it would be exhausting to do it but some will know exactly what I am talking about. There is a political message to the movie that they are trying to be slick about. Why, why, do that? Just make a movie man. I lost a lot of respect for the franchise for them trying to do that. I still don't understand why they did not go with the Expanded Universe created by all the book authors. Amazing stories lots of roles for new hero's and villains. Man, I am a positive dude, I understand change, I stick up for creative changes in movies. Redo characters with younger actors, fine. This movie stunk on so many levels. The storyline just makes no sense. Is Poe supposed to be the new Han Solo? Is Finn supposed to be funny. His character should be serious and dry. He was a Stormtrooper. My kids loved it. I didn't want to ruin it for them so I told them it was awesome and I loved the AT-ATS. But believe me I was talking S*%t in Spanish. The special effects as always were good. It was kinda sad to see Carrie Fisher knowing she passed away. Hopefully the Han Solo movie next year will redeem the franchise. I think we all give the Star Wars universe a lot of leeway.

The biggest issue i have is every space drama trying to be Guardians. The shitty humor in it undercuts the gravity of so many scenes. It drove me nuts. The open with Poe and Hux was fitting, and a nice parallel to the opening of TFA with he and Ren. But it got out of hand after that. Also, where are the knights of Ren?
