Both Transformers and G.I. Joe are owned by Hasbro, and both franchises' films have two major producers, Brian Goldner and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, as well as a production studio, Paramount, in common.
Furthermore, Transformers producer DreamWorks has collaborated with Rise of Cobra producer Spyglass Entertainment on four movies that all at least made their budgets back. So - are the odds of a live-action G.I. Joe/Transformers team-up as unlikely as one might initially think? I'd definitely like to see one. ^_^ |

I'd rather if the two were combined, it was done with animation and the Michael Bay Transformers were left in their own universe.
I don't see how it could be done any time in the next few years as a live-action film unless it were the Michael Bay Transformers. We definitely have Transformers 3 in our future and probably a fourth sequel as well before it burns out. It's not known how Rise of COBRA will perform at the box office. If it is successful, they'd want to do at least one more sequel and possibly more. If not, then the Transformers franchise won't touch it. A crossover would occur after both franchises have lost a lot of steam, like "Alien Versus Predator." |

Cameos would do
-I'd like to see a young General Hawk (maybe Lieutenant Hawk) in NEST. -I'd also like to see at least a vehicle with an Autobot symbol in the G.I. Joe film series.

A cameo before a full blown combo. That is the way to go. Just like in Predator 2, with the Alien skulls on the ship. That was sweet. If I had it my way...Transformers come back to earth to help the GI Joes destroy Cobra, Decepticons, Skynet, and the Umbrella corporation with their legions of zombies and hybrids! Is that too much?

I thought that's what Transformers was
The whole time I was watching the first movie, I was looking at the military guys going, ok, he's like Roadblock and Gung-Ho, he's kinda like Duke and Flint mashed together, he's got glasses like Short Fuze, etc... |

Cameos only. And then just background cameos that have no impact on the story.
