'Supergirl' Costume Revealed: First Pics of Melissa Benoist in Full Super-Suit
https://www.yahoo.com/tv/first-look-...906091375.html Kelly Woo Writer March 6, 2015 Hey there, Supergirl! Warner Bros. has released the first two images of Melissa Benoist as the titular character in CBS pilot for Supergirl. And she’s looking, well, super! The former Glee star begins shooting the pilot this week, in which she plays Kara Danvers aka Kara Zor-El, who escapes the destruction on Krypton to join her cousin on Earth. Uber-producer Greg Berlanti — who shepherds fellow DC Comics shows Arrow and The Flash — is behind the project. The high-profile pilot also features Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, and Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott. Dean Cain will also appear in a mystery role. If Supergirl gets the greenlight at CBS, it would be the first network superhero series with a female lead in over a decade. A few years ago, NBC tried to make one about Wonder Woman written by another uber-producer, David E. Kelley, and starring Friday Night Lights alum Adrianne Palicki. At the time, Palicki’s costume was roundly criticized. This time, the Supergirl outfit was made by Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, who said, “In designing Supergirl, I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today.”

It's definitely very Man Of Steel which IMO is a good thing.....I really wish they would tie this to the cinematic universe....since they dropped hints to her in MOS and all.
Ah well I look forward to it all the same. |

I just realized what it is that throws me off about the face close-up: she looks like Kimmy Schmidt.

I'm watching, it's a pretty decent show. Plenty of superhero action without all the excessive blood and violence. I'm actually hoping that it gets renewed.

I'm enjoying it. Far better Superfamily story than that sub-Nolan grim and gritty shite that was Man of Steel.
I did think Reactron was a bit of an Iron Man knock-off in design and back-story though. that, and the weird inability to say 'Superman' in the pilot are my only complaints, but then, I'm no huge DC fanboy. |

I am all caught up at this point. Its decent, not great but decent. Definitely not as good as the rest of the DC line up.

It's ok.I think it has potential, maybe if they let her cut loose a bit more it would help. And take it easy on the whole love triangle thing. I will say it's not as boring as Arrow can be sometimes; I wish they'd just nuke that damn island already!

I'm enjoying it but they should really drop the whole love in with Jimmy Olsen. I think she needs to develop a bit more without leaping straight into a love yarn.
I didn't care about the racial recasting of Olsen at all like some but this guy isn't Jimmy and its kinda bugging me..... Other than that though its good enough. I could take it or leave it like Gotham but Fiona really likes it so like Gotham it will be staying.....LOL. |

I'm enjoying it. It's much easier to watch than early Arrow or early Flash episodes were.
