Yeah, I know. Most of us here are guys who don't want to be caught watching Wonder Woman unless it's the Linda Carter series (which we can justify by saying it's Linda Carter), but I gotta say, what DC animation did with this is just epic. The action was huge and the writing was brilliant. Any time Steve Trevor (no longer the male Lois Lane) opened his mouth it was win.
Steve: [wakes up tied to a chair amid dozens of amazons] Wow, haven't had this dream since I was thirteen. It opens up like something out of 300 with the Amazons vs Ares army, and comes full circle at the end with a battle that levels half of Washington DC. The supporting cast was also great. Everyone was a unique character with their own strengths, weaknesses, and motivations that are satisfyingly resolved (for good or ill) by the end. Five out of five. |

Hey Wonder Woman is a bad ass, I really liked how they depicted her in JLU. Plus she snapped Maxwell Lord's neck like a chicken bone hah.
I do have the new animated Wonder Woman flick but haven't had a chance to finish it. I did catch that line you mentioned though and thought it was pretty funny. What are your thoughts on the other animated DC flicks, like Superman: Doomsday and Justice League: New Frontier? |

What are your thoughts on the other animated DC flicks, like Superman: Doomsday and Justice League: New Frontier? Luthor: WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME?!?!!? That line actually made the whole room explode in laughter. New Frontier was a big improvement. It was based on an excellent graphic novel and was a good take on the silver age heroes. Only thing was Superman getting taken out so early in the final battle. The poor guy is NEVER going to live down being rescued by Aquaman. Never. Batman telling the Martian Manhunter he could take him out with a 2cent book of matches was epic win. WW was my favorite so far (and overdue since Supes and Bats already had their own series), but I'm really looking forward to the Green Lantern movie. That too, has a lot of potential. |

Haha I almost choked on my chips and salsa after being reminded of that line.
Yeah Doomsday wasn't that great, I'm not a big Superman fan anyway. I really liked New Frontier though, one of my fave lines was the crack about Martian Manhunter's lack of pants after he morphed into a more human form. I'm looking forward to the Green Lantern movie too, I hope we get a Flash movie after. |
