I can guarantee you this would never happen for several reasons: first, DC is renowned (especially lately) for its good writing, where Transformers, and GI Joe for that matter, are not; instead, they exist only to sell toys.
The whole DC animated universe was created just to be a kids show, and hopefully sell toys and even get kids into the comics. Hasbro doesn't have the time to commit to building a huge fanbase loyal to their products, which is why they've recreated Joe and Transformers so many times, usually ending just as the fans were beginning to be created. Isn't that just like what's happening with the Modern Era line, dying out to make way for the movie? Furthermore, the DC animated universe has literally decades of popular comic stories to revamp and retell in the various series. Both Joe and Transformers have so many different incarnations to choose from, that any new story will be bound to step on some fans toes (ie, should many of the Joes be Vietnam vets, or something more modern? / should the Autobots have landed in the 1980's, or now?). Hasbro doesn't care if the show has any literary merit or character development, just as long as there are lots of explosions and action, and comedic relief. Besides, if a good writer has the choice of working for a DC show that allows for a lot of creative expression, or a Hasbro 30 minute toy commercial that must include the upcoming product, which do you think they would likely choose? What do you think G.I.JOE Resolute is?

My son took an interest in this series several years ago (he was 5) so we got into it hardcore for him. The figures were great playtoys for him with a LOT of diversity for the price.
We watched the episodes at the beginning to make sure it was right for what we want our sons watching, and I was really impressed with the writing and quality that went into the show-particularly when it came to second tier characters stories (IMHO-one of the weakest points in most shows writings-they did this really well). My son LOVED Booster Gold and watched that one episode over and over. I was a huge Question fan back in the 80's, when DC had it on the stands. The reworking was a completely different take, but so enjoyable that I couldn't stop watching him. And our beloved Jeffery Combs was the only voice that could do it! But it's the stories and the characters. Too often we have people try and add characters because it would be cool, and completely miss the opportunities their personality brings to the table. This series made a point of those personalities, be it Shazam, Booster, Blackhawk, or anyone else. Rorschach was also given a tip of the hat by Question in one of the 80's comics, when Vic is on an airplane and reads the Watchmen comic. For what it's worth-Batman didn't necessarily respect Questions crime fighting even back then. I believe he summed up Question, to Alfred, by saying "...a really good mask on a really bad crimefighter". But Question and Hub City stories back then really made you think. Thats what I love in any fiction, and that's what JLU gave my boys on DVD. |

Hands down the BEST animated series.
I had all the figures up to 2008. Sadly, my son and I have lost interest in future collecting and have been selling off our collection in lots.

I was such a Marvel zombie until JLU came along. It is one of the greatest animated series ever and the episode "The Greatest Story Never Told" with Booster Gold is my absolute favorite!

I love the whole cadmus arc, and the Luthor/Brainiac finale with Flash and the speed force.
I think one of my favorites tho is where Luthor and Flash have a mind swap or anything with the Justice Lords.
