I grew up watching the "classic" Dr. Who, and while I liked it for what it was, I prefer the new modern series.
Man, why won't anyone watch my link?
lol.

I grew up watching the classic Dr Who in reruns, but my ex really got me in to the new series recently. I just finished Season 1 off and I'm totally hooked on this show.

A little late to the party, but I will throw my 2 cents in.

Loved the classic series, and have all the episodes on vhs, 500+ books, autographs from all but Hartnell, CDs, posters, comics, games etc. to prove it. That said I do love the new series as well. Unlike some people on the tank, I don't have a problem with things staying exactly as they were in the past

I liked Eccleston's Doctor (and was happy to see him cast as Destro), but didn't like that it seemed more often than not that the companion was the one to save the day. Not a huge deal mind you, just a minor annoyance.

I love Tenant's Doctor, and rank him near the top (if not #1) on my list of favorite Doctors. I was bummed to hear that he was leaving after this year.

Like everyone else it seems, I have no idea who the new guy (Matt Smith) is. Sounds like he must have nailed the audition to get the part, as Stephen Moffatt has rallied for an older doctor for many years.

Here is a little article on Mr. Smith for those who wish to know more about the future Timelord

I'm kinda hoping this was done based on his ability. Because, well, he's handsome and hasn't had much experience.

I dunno, I thought a Afro-European doctor would've been a good choice.

A couple of people "in the know" claim that he knocked the audition out of the park with his mannerisms etc. Only time will tell I guess.

Oh, and rumor has it that Paul McGann will be in one of 2009's specials as well.
