It just doesn't suite me now as an adult. I like the brooding Batman more. But I wouldn't take it off the air, it is for the kids. On another note.. I Freaking Love the new Wolverine Cartoon.

I love it. Like shredded wheat the kid in me loves the fun of it, and the adult loves the comicbook references.

I'm also of the mind that Batman should be able to appeal to kids at the same time that he appeals to adults. Most of us who are adults got into Batman as kids, when he was a "Superfriend," Adam West, and/or the pre-Dark Knight Returns comic version. If we didn't have that stuff, would we care about any post-modern, gritty, Nolan-esque Batman? I wouldn't. Kids should have their Batman, too.

It's great especially when the action starts, sure it's kiddie but it's a throwback to the 60's

Actually the LOSH figs are an online Mattel store exclusive, so no need to go peg hunting at Target.

Brave and the Bold is a fun show. Getting to see other DC heroes interact with Batman is great. I guess it's not dark and mature enough for all the emo Batman fans here. At first I thought Aquaman was way out of character on the show, but now I think his bombastic ways rule. But the most recent episode makes me think a GLC show would be very cool to watch. |

OK... Not to be a stickler here.. BUT... when you say the Batman of Old.. Batman was ORIGINALLY The Dark Knight.. he didn't become the Camp and Pomp Batman until the 1960's... and then became the Dark Knight again in the 80's.
But yeah the cartoon is fine for the Audience it supports.. I just can't seem to get into it. Its just too silly for me. And even then, 40s to 50s Batman, original Bats, wasn't some grumpy old grimdark Batass of the 80s and 90s. He was serious, yes. He didn't have campy adventures where he had to wear a new colored costume every week, or something. But he wasn't also this grimdark loner that thought that simply growling at a criminal was enough to make the criminal piss his pants and run, and hated his team-mates. Original Batman was a well balanced human who had one day that was a tragedy that defined his life's work. Read that again: His life's work. Not his life. Grimdark Bats forgot that part, Grimdark Bats got his entire life defined by the murders. Original Bats just decided to fight crime. He had lovers. He had friends. He had a social life. Him and Robin were friends, him and Supes were friends, etc. When he worked with the JSA, he worked with them as a team, not as some loner thinking of ways to kill them and doing his best to ignore the team aspect of things. This show is a show for kids. If we were still kids, we'd be going all ape-poop over the show. This is by and large far superior to anything we got as kids (assuming that you were a kid prior to the 90s). It has great writing, and better yet? An art style that a child might be able to mimic, and flows well and looks interesting to watch. |

It kind of reminds me of the Superman/Batman hour of the 90's. That was a great show. However I don't necessarily think it is better than ANYTHING we had as kids. It is better than any superhero cartoon we had, but He-Man is still the best in my book. I wish cartoons today would end the show with the "Moral of the story" concept. Kids need that kind of thing.
