The first post is a spam post
here is a google search proving this "I saw American Carol a while ago and just saw it again on DVD" - Google Search "The movie bombed so bad they're resorting to spam bots as a last ditch effort to recoup it's losses. The film had a mere $20 Mil budget. US Box Office gross: $6,960,000 with a 13% Rotten Tomatoes rating." |

Even though this is a very dangerous thread because of the high potential for political contamination, I'll chime in before the post is closed or deleted. I rented the film. I liked it. I laughed, but not all the time. It's kinda like Dilbert. It's hard to laugh when something is so true and hits close to home. Though, not stupid funny like most of the comedies that have come out in the past couple years, it's worth seeing, just to get a view from the other side of the issues that you don't get most places. It's irony is what makes it powerful and worth seeing. And it does have a few laughs, kinda like Airplane or Naked Gun, but with a message.
Just to set the record straight. It got 13% from the "critics" on Rotten Tomatoes. It got 69% from the "real" people. Take that for what it's worth. |

Good call. I will definitely be checking this film out. If you want to see a laugh out loud funny movie from the guy who directed An American Carol, watch Kentucky Fried Movie.
