Twilight

I had no idea the book/movie was a hit with teenage girls but I watched the movie Twilight with my GF last night since I generally like vampire movies. It was light and entertaining, just the right movie I needed to cheer me up. They said it was the "Harry Potter" for teenage girls. There were a few cheesy scenes but the movie was great overall. Oh yeah, the lines at the movie theater in Union Square, NY was ridiculously long -- there were a lot of high school and college fans.

I saw Quantum of Solace last night, and the hordes of high school kids was crazy! There was a blood drive outside the theater, which I thought was pretty clever.

Best scene in the film? Bella stupidly telling her dad her new BF (Who her dad's not very fond of) is picking her up...AND HE'S CLEANING HIS RIFLE! Freakin' classic.

It wasn't bad. I'm glad they stuck to the important parts of the book (Unlike whoever ruined "Eragon" by cutting out the important stuff, only to have it surface in the deleted scenes) even if some of the origins were cut out.

And those evil vamps reminded me of the Evil Kryptonians from "Superman 2", especially how the female would wear the 'pelts' of the people she's defeated. (BTW, that was the girl from "Big Wolf on Campus". Ironic? Oh yeah.)

Navy?

The Army sucks in comparison to the deal you got!

If you give blood while in the Army, you have to go right back to work.

I tried to read the book but it seemed like "Sweet Valley High" with vampires.

The South Park parody episode was amusing, though.

You couldn't pay me to go see this harlequin romance movie. My sister is a fan and has summarized the books for me. I told her that their were 2 reasons I wouldn't go- 1. I am not a teenage girl, 2. I am not gay.

That being said, I am currently watching True Blood, and am on the fence on it. We will see if the 2nd and 3rd episodes pull me in or send me packing.

I feel the same way...this is 12-14yr old emo-goth tripe to me...last Vampire movie I saw and liked was "Bram Stokers Dracula". Even though Keanu and Winona sucked, Gary Oldman, and Anthony Hopkins TOTALLY owned their parts, and the vintage EFX and cinematography were EXCELLENT.
