Yeah, shows like that just don't "reappear" after two-three years since the last time it was in production.

Im rewatching Season 1 on Netflix, I forgot how terrible Joker was in it. Mark Hamill has spoiled any other cartoon version of him.

Paul Dini on Cartoon Network's Programming Decisions and Why Boy Viewers Are Valued Over Girls - IGN
The Batman: The Animated Series veteran on challenges superhero cartoons face these days. BY ERIC GOLDMAN The past couple of years have seen fans of Cartoon Network series like Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series get their hearts broken, as those shows were cancelled after just a season or two – and the situation seems to be repeating itself with Beware The Batman, which has been pulled from the schedule with less than half of its 26-episode order having aired, while Cartoon Network doubles up on Teen Titans Go! episodes. So what gives? Kevin Smith recently posted an episode of his Fatman on Batman podcast with special guest Paul Dini, one of the masterminds behind the classic Batman: The Animated Series. During their conversation, Smith gushes about his love for Beware The Batman, only for Dini to note how grim its future looks. Dini -- who made the live-action series Tower Prep at Cartoon Network -- remarks, “Cartoon Network is very arbitrary about what they choose to run,” before noting that one major hurdle he keeps seeing these days in animation is a trend with superheroes where everything has to be aimed "younger" and "funnier" – and that the executives don’t value female viewers, because they don’t buy as many of the same toys that are aimed at boys connected to these series. It should be noted that Dini has been working with Marvel the past few years on their current series like Ultimate Spider-Man and Hulk and the Agents of SMASH, which also receive their own criticisms for the amount of humor that is included. Dini’s comments are pretty interesting to ponder and I’ve seen firsthand how passionate female viewers were for Young Justice, but were they and older fans in general a problem, because it's only young, toy-hungry boys the network wanted? Below are excerpts from the conversation, via Vi at Tumblr agelfeygelach. DINI: "They're all for boys 'we do not want the girls', I mean, I've heard executives say this, you know, not [where I am] but at other places, saying like, 'We do not want girls watching this show." SMITH: "WHY? That's 51% of the population." DINI: "They. Do. Not. Buy. Toys. The girls buy different toys. The girls may watch the show—" SMITH: "So you can sell them T-shirts if they don't—A: I disagree, I think girls buy toys as well, I mean not as many as fucking boys do, but, B: sell them something else, man! Don't be lazy and be like, 'well I can't sell a girl a toy.' Sell 'em a T-shirt, man, sell them fucking umbrella with the fucking character on it, something like that. But if it's not a toy, there's something else you could sell 'em! Like, just because you can't figure out your job, don't kill chances of, like, something that's gonna reach an audience that's just so self-defeating, when people go, like… these are the same fuckers who go, like, 'Oh, girls don't read comics, girls aren't into comics.' It's all self-fulfilling prophecies. They just make it that way, by going like, 'I can't sell 'em a toy, what's the point?' DINI: "That's the thing, you know I hate being Mr. Sour Grapes here, but I'll just lay it on the line: that's the thing that got us cancelled on Tower Prep, honest-to-God was, like, 'we need boys, but we need girls right there, right one step behind the boys'—this is the network talking—'one step behind the boys, not as smart as the boys, not as interesting as the boys, but right there.' And then we began writing stories that got into the two girls' back stories, and they were really interesting. And suddenly we had families and girls watching, and girls really became a big part of our audience, in sort of like they picked up that Harry Potter type of serialized way, which is what The Batman and [indistinct]'s really gonna kill. But, the Cartoon Network was saying, 'Fuck, no, we want the boys' action, it's boys' action, this goofy boy humor we've gotta get that in there. And we can't—'and I'd say, but look at the numbers, we've got parents watching, with the families, and then when you break it down—'Yeah, but the—so many—we've got too many girls. We need more boys.'" SMITH: "That's heart-breaking." DINI: "And then that's why they cancelled us, and they put on a show called Level Up, which is, you know, goofy nerds fighting CG monsters. It's like, 'We don't want the girls because the girls won't buy toys.' We had a whole… we had a whole, a merchandise line for Tower Prep that they shitcanned before it ever got off the launching pad, because it's like, 'Boys, boys, boys. Boys buy the little spinny tops, they but the action figures, girls buy princesses, we're not selling princesses.'" Smith and Dini continue their conversation about this topic, and their thoughts on underestimating what toys girls may want to buy and other tactics the networks aren't considering on the podcast, which can be downloaded here. The Cartoon Network conversation begins about 41 minutes in.

So, doing some necro bumping here, but for good reason:
First off, it was revealed last month from Greg Weisman that the reason for Young Justice's cancellation were related to issues from Mattel. Reportedly, Mattel was co-financing the series based on a toy deal (ie, Mattel wanted a show to sell more DC toys). When Mattel canned the toy line, they dumped support for the show, and Warner/Cartoon Network was unwilling to finance the whole amount for a third season. (Might have also been the reason the toyline was so absurdly expensive as well) Also, season 2 appeared on Netflix a week or so ago, and since, there have been rumors that Netflix is closely monitoring the stats on the show and may be considering pushing forward a 3rd season.

If this is true, we all need to re-watch every episode. I just finished season 2, next I'll go back and start over with episode 1 of season 1.

Yeah, I was so happy to see Season 2 was on there now. I'm about six episodes in. I'd forgotten how good it was.

I hope the new Justice League cartoon is as good as Young Justice was, I have my doubts since they keep pushing bad shit and killing the good stuff. I utterly despise the Teen Titans cartoons that they've came out with and Beware the Batman wasnt very good in my opinion either. If Netflix picked it up, that'd be awesome, I'd love to see the Team vs the Light/Darkseid.

Young Justice was good enough for at least 5 seasons. Same with Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes. They were basically replaced by Teen Titans Go and the new Marvel cartoons which are just too goofy for me.
