Moonshiners reality show. Really???

So I started wathcing this new reality show called Moonshiners on the Discovery Channel tonight. This just proves why I am so sick and tired of almost Every show on tv is a reality show.

I am sorry and don't want to sound old fashioned but I want to see sitcoms again like Cheers, Family Ties, Knight Rider, A-Team etc. This Moonshiners tv show makes no sense. So "Tim and Tickle" the two "stars" of this show are making illegal moonshine. It also focuses on the police trying to "track down" these two guys.

So my question, if these two guys "Tim and Tickle" are making illegal Moonshine and the DIscovery Channel is filming them making it, why don't they notify the police?

Stupid reality shows.

A lot of "reality" shows are scripted. And the scripts are not very good.

It's more than likely staged. Consider that Popcorn Sutton, the "legend" mentioned in the intro, had his recipe legalized after his death so that the profits could go to his family. That speculates that those two are legally making Moonshine, but adding a bit of dramatic overtones for the film crew.

I know folks here in WV that make their own moonshine for their own consumption...like home breweries. If you sell it without a license or don't pay taxes then it's illegal. There are a few different distilleries that legally make moonshine, but restricted to the % of alcohol content.

You just figured out how reality shows are faked. I saw a special on VH1 when the craze first started and it showed how editing and misdirection "added drama" that simply didn't exist in the actual situation. The "reality stars" were interviewed talking about how "dramatic points" never really happened or was exagerated.

On the moonshine show, if it were real all anyone would have to do is show a tape of the show in the court and these guys are done, no need to be chased by the cops.

One of the BIG clues to faking is when the camera never misses the action. Lots of those repo shows are very guilty of this. If tehy were real half the crap that happens wouldn't be caught on tape but would take place off camera, how else does the camera man know to point the camera in that exact direction when the people are having a conversation in the opposite direction.

Me, I just avoid most of these shows, that's the only way things will change.

I hate sitcoms.

Love the "reality" shows about jobs: Swamp People, Axmen, etc...

I havent seen it, but I can imagine. I absolutely HATE "reality" TV. Id rather LIVE in reality than watch it on TV. In all honesty though, I dont watch a whole lot of TV anyway. Once shows like Cheers, Cosby Show, All In The Family, Wonder Years, Coach, Northern Exposure, etc., were done, I was done. I watch stuff like NatGeo, history shows, The Universe, etc., but thats it really. Its all a waste of my time, especially watching Soap Operas disguised as "reality tv". You couldnt pay me to watch that crap.
