Was watching that new show on History Channel called Real Deal. Basically a dude comes to the auction house and tries to sell his stuff... an expert makes him an offer and he can either take the money or chance it with an instant auction.
Anyway in this episode (skip to 6:30)... Real Deal — Real Deal: Comic (Con)frontation — History.com Videos ...a dude tries to sell his comics. I thought it was pretty neat; he had some good stuff... a lot of first appearances by popular characters... saw the New Mutants with Deadpool. I think he made the right choice, but I have no idea how much all those comics are worth.

The only thing that scares me about that show is that you don't get the option of "I don't want to sell" Sometimes the auction goes way above what the "dealer" was offering and sometimes it goes way bellow.

Iron Man #1 is just a first (valuable, but not a first app) issue. Same with Captain America 100. X-Men 1 wasn't in very good shape--just decent. Avengers 2 I didn't see well.
Hulk 181 is super valuable right now.......It all depends on condition. The Hulk looked like it was graded. High Graded copies have gone for boatload on ebay......1000-2000 bucks easily. Again, depends on grade. With those particular books with the type of condition most looked to be in...I'd take the 1,800.....

I love that show and what I like about it is when the cocky SOB's come in and refuse to take the dealer's offer and get about half of the original offer at auction. Like that guy with the lamp/ phonograph. It's understandable if you want a certain price for an item that you are selling and nobody likes to be low-balled but some people put way too high a price on something that isn't really worth much. One guy went on there selling an antique sextant he claimed was his grandfather's and when his story did not add up, it came out that he just bought it at a garage sale or something. And the guy was a real douche. I was so happy to see that he got about half at auction that what the dealers offered him, plus they deduct some fees (around 10%) for auction fees.
