It was almost certainly a case of low expectations being exceeded, but I actually liked it a lot more than I thought I would.
I thought it was kind of hilarious that this movie had far more right to the name "Clash of the Titans" since it actually had, y'know...Titans clashing.
It also struck me as the director having watched both Clash of the Titans and 300 and said, "Heyyyy, I can do something cool in this sandbox."
I wasn't exactly worried before, but I don't think anyone will have much of a problem with Henry Cavill as Superman. He's practically playing the Greek version here.

The characters in the story the main character tells are awesome, but the visuals are INCREDIBLE. It is also boasted that there is not one single shot of CGI in the film and I'm not so sure about that yet.
Worth a look and I believe it's still on netflix.

I'll see if I can find "The Fall."

Posts: 25,614 | i seen this preview few weeks ago at the movies, i was like this looks bad ass, but i actually hate that matrix type battle shit, the slow motion crap, that shit needs to die, i mean that shit needed to die the day after it was in matrix, i'm seriously not impressed and intrigued by that shit. i think it's retarded.
side note, the writers to this story graduated from my high school, they are two brothers from seaside park.
pretty bad ass, and made me wanna see the movie even more, now..
eat that...

And I'd take two hours of "that Matrix shit" over the barely-comprehensible "quick-cut shaky-cam" method which seems to be the only other way moviemakers do action these days (usually to cover up the shortcomings of their actors and/or costuming...see the "Bourne" trilogy or Nolan's Batman films). At least with the slow-mo I can actually see what the hell is going on.

I just like the gods though... they were so cool looking. Kinda sucks that they ended up being a bunch of wusses though.

Immortals was one of my all-time disappointments... right up there with The Fifth Element. At least I got to see Freida Pinto though... and the Gods themselves looked cool lounging around on Mt. Olympus.
