there was nothing over the top about the villains. they were handled extremely sensibly and dramatically -- the very opposite of over the top. the concepts of the characters and vehicles are not over the top absolutely regardless of how they are handles, which you seem to want to assert, it is in how they are handled and presented, and they were not done so over-the-top. |

You mean to tell me that the scene with the Joker leaving the hospital was not over the top? Come on............. Why are you lying to yourself. Don't get me wrong, I think it was great. And two-face....... a man who had fifty percent of his face burned off only leaving an eyeball and tendons on one side of his face and decides the fate of the man who took the love of his life away on a scarred coin is not over the top? Or the bat mobile that can convert into a motorcycle? Now the world they live in was not over the top, not like it the prior Batman franchise.

I wonder if the Nolan would even consider doing another film in fear that it would never top this film... I mean where could they go with the plot that could live up or close to this film. I would hate for it to end up like X3. Someone mentioned a set up for the riddler, but who knows. I just can't think of villians or a plot that could top this... but I would love to see a bat boat or bat aircraft of some sort!

I can see a 3rd one easy. Joker is still alive. Plus bring in Riddler or Bane or Catwoman (remember Dawes is dead).

For those of you who may not know all of Batman's enemies... there is a villian named Hush who grew up with Bruce and is now out to destroy the Dark Knight even though he knows who Batman really is. But Whatever they do ... DO NOT RUIN THIS CURRENT MOVIE RUN BY BRINGING STUPID ROBIN INTO THE MIX!!! I know there has to be a Robin... BUT NOT RIGHT NOW!!! If they wanted another villian also... bring in Deadshot.. or maybe even the KG Beast!! There are other villians besides Freeze, Riddler, Penguin.. but it might be alright if Selina Kyle made an appearance... just keep the Catwoman on the low side for now.

I wonder if Mattel would make a Movie Masters Two-Face figure?
Ever since Begins I have wanted a fully articulated, well sculpted line of figures. With Scarecrow and Batman accounted for, I want the damn League, I WANT MY NINJAS!!!!. God that ninjutsu training scene was awesome...rarely does Hollywood ever do ninjutsu right, Batman Begins was one of the rare exceptions where it was portrayed accurately. Quote:
The bat-mobile, the Bat Pod, Batman, Joker, Two-face, The bat signal, The secret Identity..The Fracking over the top Villians?
I’m confused, what part to you was not a comic book or super hero film? X men 3-over the top and very obvious comic book movie Dark Knight-comic based, serious movie that is damn well good enough as a movie to stand on its own irregardless if it was based on a comic or not |

Hush would be a good choice but i don't know if he'd be big enough for films Not to say that he doesn't deserve to be in but I'm sure hollywood will only go with big guns and house hold names. Though they did pull out Scarecrow and Ras so who knows. I just don't want them to feel they have to top this one and then over do it. A random thought I had was having Racheal Dawes return as Phantasm. I do think her departure makes room for Catwoman, which is a good thing.

THIS JUST IN!!!!! I just caught a glimpse of this article and this is what Christian Bale had to say about the future of the Batman Movies:
"'Dark Knight' star Christian Bale says he'll chain himself up and refuse to work on the 'Batman' franchise if producers try to bring back Robin, Showbiz Spy asserts. Those of us who sat through 'Batman & Robin' thank you, Mr. Bale." YEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! |

Now the world they live in was not over the top, not like it the prior Batman franchise. and the Joker leaving the hospital wasn't over the top. it was comedic, but again, comedic does not equal over-the-top. the two can be completely independent of one another, but you again want to say they are the same thing. that's just utterly ridiculous. |
