max payne is a videogame series that was pretty dark. I think as long as joel schumacher, paul ws anderson and uwe boll arent directing it should be decent.

probably a representation of something. it happened a lot in the videogames. Man those the stories were dark but good.

In the game (SPOILERS!!!!!!) at least, there is this conspiracy about a drug called Valkyre, and in the game, Max PAyne suffers hallucenations due to being injected and poisoned with the drug, as well as a nightmare at one point it I remember. Those are most likely part of those apparitions/hallucenations. The game was very dark and filled with Norse mythology references, and was extremely stylized. Think Sin City + Matrix + Psycho thriller + Noir

I loved the 2 Max Payne games. Those games popularized the "slow bullet time effect". Should be a good movie if it sticks close to the game's dark story line.

Yeah I played the crap out of the first Payne, but I guess we'll have to watch it to see how that plays out...cant wait for the movie
