Thanks! One of the things I've learned is that whenever possible, take apart the entire vehicle/figure and paint the individual parts. It's way easier that way and if you mess up one bit, it's not like you have to re-do the whole thing.
Paint: I didn't use spray paint on my Sky Rattler but I kind of wish I had because it would have been done about a week earlier. Krylon's Fusion paint is especially made for plastics. Also, be picky on the finish you want; in other words, do you want a super glossy finish (which might have glare issues when taking pics), or a subdued matte finish. Semi-gloss can look great too.
Check out cobrastickers.com for decals if you already haven't. I was pretty impressed with the quality of them in the print/thickness of substrate and aggressiveness of adhesive.
Just lurk the customs and WIP (work in progress) threads and take cues from others. It's how I got all of my tips!
the whale is mint nothing broken or chipped. the night ray is missing search light lens, left side gun, engine and engine cover. night storm is missing just the bottom shell which is the same as the persuader. Night blaster is missing only 2 legs for the top piece and the radar dish. the rest you can see.
i started this tournament a while ago to determine a list that we'd like to hand over to Hasbro in hopes that they can make these figures in POC sometime. we're in Round 3 of the game now. feel free to drop by the thread and vote!
Pursuit of Cobra now showing up at ToysRus. Man these figs look sweet. Picked up Duke, Snake Eyes, Beachhead, Storm Shadow, Firefly, and the Alley Viper. My boy Mario on the same trip came up on a red carded Cobra Commander. Still don't like the figure but the card looks cool.
Found two Iron Grenadier / Cobra Viper comic packs and two Resolute Cobra Troopers at Marshalls earllier today. Looks like I found the scraps that were left from other collectors.
